I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering- is there enough room in Sleeping Beauty Castle for a dark ride based on the movie? That would be cool if there was. But they probably wouldn't put one in for the same reason they closed the walk-through. Does anyone know the answer? Thanks!

No. There is enough room for a princess meet-and-greet, however, which I always thought would be a nice place for Aurora.
The hallways are far too narrow for a ride and a lot of the space in the castle is taken up already by the top shops on either side of it.

What I always wanted to see happen was both Peter Pan and Mr. Toad get their own show buildings (seeing as both attractions need updating) and have the Sleeping Beauty que start with the walk-through, lead down into the old villians shop (I believe it's the family crest shop now), and use the entire Toad/Peter Pan building for the new ride.Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.

I really wish they would have had the walk thru open for the
50th. That was definitely a mistake! Hopefully it will be place
on the schedule to re-open.... and I would love to see them
add a dragon, or at least some special effects to make it appear

Re: Sleeping Beauty Castle- Enough Room for a Ride
ORWEN: Somehow, I just don't think it's right for ANY princess to have ride vehicles going through her castle, anyway! I mean, how's she supposed to ever get any sleep if she has to worry about getting run over by a car in the middle of the night whenever she gets up to use the royal throne?
ORDDU: Of course--if you listen to all the many news reports these days--it seems to actually be the latest fad to crash your car into somebody's home. We hear of such things all the time. If I remember correctly, there was one of those fiendish metal contraptions--which the rest of you call cars--that ended up on the porch roof of someone's home recently.
ORWEN: Cars and other vehicles really should stay outside of a person's home where they belong. However, a walk-thru attraction for a princess's castle is much more dignified--
ORDDU: --as long as you don't walk in on her at the wrong moment, of course. Certain towers should be off limits, don't you think?

Re: Sleeping Beauty Castle- Enough Room for a Ride
The castle is closed because of corrosion. AKA Termite damage. You might not have realized that Disney does not use any kind of insecticides on their premises, at all. That is why you see cats, mice, and rodents. They even have a code name for a dead mouse which is "Sleeping Mickey." Anyways, from what I was always told, termite damage has prevented the castle from having that walkway because of the damage to the castle. Before, I always thought 9/11 caused it to be closed, but in reality the Castle is falling apart. I mean, it is pretty old...I LUV DIZNEELAN. YAY

My educated guess was the area was too dangerous to use because of the fireworks launching sites above the castle for various reasons.Friend walks into line of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh-"Come on, Let's go see Country Bear- .......Oh."-August 1st 2010

While it does seem silly to move 2 attractions across the walkway, it does work out for the best in my opinion. Not only do we keep the quaint MBC area from being paved over or turned into a playground, there is also the chance to remake the Storybook Land to make it fresh. (I went in early Sept and some of the models had been crushed by ducks or were a tad neglected.
Another benefit is that the area from BTR to ToonTown Station is up for grabs more or less. Big Thunder Ranch has nothing, there is the skyway station, the old home of Casey and the canals, and possibly the Fantasyland theatre space. The land inside Fantasyland could easily be used for a multi-level Mr. Toad where you careen up and down stairs in Toad Hall, off road through the muddy banks around Toad Hall, and crash through the town. I would love to see it use indoors and outdoors much like Alice. Secondly, I think we all agree that Peter Pan's Flight is much too short for the amount of potential. I would love to see an expanded version that really allows us to feel like we are flying through Pirate ships, forests, and enchanted lagoons.
Lastly, we would have the room for a great Sleeping Beauty attraction located in her Castle.Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.
