  • Walt's SSN

While cruising around the net I came across this site that lets you search Social Security death records. Plugged in Walt's name and found his SSN. Kind of scarry that that kind of information is out there. You can even send a request to the goverment to get a copy of his application for a SS card. I don't want to post his actual SSN but here is were I found it.

Search for Walter not just Walt.

Interesting that his and Roy's SSNs are only 1 digit apart. I thought the last digit was a check digit so the last 2 should be different.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Maybe that wasn't a concern way back then? Could make for some good Lotto numbers. If anyone sends for his app let us all know.

My sister's ss# and mine are only 8 digits apart.
As nice as the other parks are, we must always remember that it all began at Disneyland. Disneyland should be the crown jewel in the Disney crown.

It didn't work for me. All I came up with is a Walt Disney who died in 1999 and another one who died in 2002. And I didn't get anything for Roy O. Disney at all.
How come it no workie for me?

Don't use middle initials. Walter Disney and Roy Disney.

that means they were issued one right after the next - my bother's and mine are like that too - we are one number different (and its the last digit)

Sure - but someone committing fraud could also make up a number. Walt is dead so he's not using it to claim any benifits - so it might be some time before anyone discovers the fraud or might be a moot point for a dead person.

Yes, and then his credit rating would go down.

Wow, this is the cool thing of the week!

What is interesting is looking at all of the Walter Disneys that were some of the other contemporaries of Walt. The Walt Disney we know was born in 1901 but died in 1966. There were other guys named Walter Disney born in 1899 or 1894 or 1905 that lived into the late 1970's or mid 1980's.

It makes you wonder what Disneyland and the Disney Company would have been like had Walt not been a smoker and lived another 15 or 20 years like some of the other Walter Disneys did.
