Re: Favorite things from 50th and One thing that you wished they did?
Top 5 things they did right:
5) Remember...Dreams Come True
4) The 50th Anniversary Bomber Jacket (Proud owner of said jacket)
3) The 50th Anniversary DVD and 20% off coupon (which made #4 affordable)
2) They actually painted the place in preparation for the Happiest Homecoming, proving that the Execs actually do care about DL...
1) They had an Eisneroscopy...(tough to find a proctologist willing to operate in that area)
And the one thing I wish they did differently...
They let Matt get away!

As for the 50th, I wish they had given away 50 lifetime passes at random that day.

Things they did right:
Crowd control on july 17th was awesome. And the TV screen presentations, cupcakes were nice too. I think they missed some opportunities considering the morning crowd but as far as handling a mass amount of people in general at the last second they did a good job of catching up.
All the ride refurbs we got were awesome as well and I'm looking forward with what's to come.
I still wish that, for July 17th 2005, the main street electrical parade would've come down the parade route that night at Disneyland.

Re: Favorite things from 50th and One thing that you wished they did?
1. The park looks really nice!
2. "Remember" is awesome.
3. Tommorowland is returning
4. The Lilly Belle is back.
5. Welcome to the "Ward Kimball."
What still needs to be done?
Put the Rocket Jets back where they belong!"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

Yeah, the 50th really ended July 17th, 2006
(the 51st Birthday).
BUT technically, the 50th Party isn't over, yet. :rules:
DL has the last date of the 50th Celebration as September 30, 2006,
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I refuse to answer said question, until said celebration is officially
concluded by said theme park.
I WISH THIS CELEBRATION WOULD NEVER
HAVE TO LEAVE THIS MAGICAL PLACE!!!!!Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Re: Favorite things from 50th and One thing that you wished they did?
1. Remember... Dreams Come True
2. Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams
3. The 50 Golden Mickeys all over the park
4. The facelift of the Disneyland Resort
5. The fifty Magical Milestone pins (that were thankfully available at WDW)
Something I wish they did do... a fifty-hour operating day like the parties for the 25th and Star Tours. What a marathon that would have been. Oh well, now they have to do one for the 100th!BACKPACKING REALNESS

Re: Favorite things from 50th and One thing that you wished they did?
I wish they'd have televised something on national Television......a two hours special with flashbacks to other monumental events at the park.
I mean hello? Doesn't Disney OWN ABC? This shouldn't have been a difficult task at all.

Re: Favorite things from 50th and One thing that you wished they did?
I didn't go enough to make a judgement on what they did right;
but I wish they would have:
1 Put the star on top of the Matterhorn for the holidays
2 Ran the MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE down MAIN STREET,
or, since this year the days and dates lined up the same as they
were in 1972, run the Electrical Parade down Main Street the same
day it premiered, Saturday, June 17. More media coverage, etc.
After all, it was supposed to be a HOMECOMING. Oh well."They's two B's in basketball!"

I know what you mean, but Disney OWNS Disneyland and they OWN ABC - so they can do what they want. The only way people will learn to revere them is to 'SEE' what it was all about. And to do that, you televise something in mass - you know?
I am not a Six Flags fan - and I don't think that Six Flags Parks have the History that Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom does.....you don't seem movies put out by Six Flags....you don't see the Six Flags Channel on your local cable network - you know?
If something IS amazing, and they don't know it, then do something to SHOW THEM that it is. That's what I say.
