  • No BLING just DREAM on the official DL website

    www.disneyland.com

The 50th is officialy GONE from the Disneyland website. www.disneyland.com/50 no longer works. I checked www.disneyland.com/dreams which is still directing to a page that is not available yet.

They changed the little intro video on the main page as well. There is a new page that leads to the year of a Million Dreams promotion specifically for DLR. Interestingly it says "Each and every day Cast Members at Disneyland Resort may surprise you with an enchanting dream-come-true moment. Wishes that you once thought impossible may come true as each and every Cast Member you meet just may be the dream maker who grants your wish!" It was my understanding that there would be seperate CMs who were specifically the "dream makers" that would "select" each guest.

This section of the site also high-lights "New Attractions and Entertainment" and lists little blurbs for Rockin' Space Mountain, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Disney Princess Fantasy Faire, High School Musical Pep Rally, and Pirates Have Landed.

If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

THey haven't seemed to work all the bugs out yet. Sometimes a page wouldn't load for me - even if I had just been there. And the front page video didn't even try to load. Just a big blank white spot on the top of the page. I find it a little disterbing that even on the DL website they are using the icky DisneyParks logos. And they have a picture of WDW's Splash Mountian in the section they talk about the prizes. I found that funny. Anyway...hope the website improves. Right now it's sorta sucky.

Yet there are still ads out there that say - "It's not too late to celebrate" - with a 50th logo and character in golden ears.

Out where? I said the website.

cpdisneyprincess, I didn't have a single problem on the site, maybe it was on your end? You might have out of date software? ::shrugs::

You can also order a DisneyParks DVD that highlights WDW and DLR.

I like how there is a picture of Goofy in front of Walt Disney World's castle on the Disneyland website.

That's odd. Makes sense but I think /dreams makes more sense. ::shrugs:: At any rate DREAMS seems to be a pre-loader to something. Maybe it will be available after Oct 1.

My comment was directly linked to your comment. I was making the point that Disney continues to advertise the 50th when it appears that (based on your post - and others) - it is just about over.

Oh and there are billboards on the 405 and television ads (SoCal) that are still advertising the 50th saying "it's not too late to celebrate." When apparently it is.

Our Year of a Million Dreams Planning DVD came in the mail last week! Unlike the 50th one, it came in an actual plastic case (instead of a cheapy cardboard case).

We didn't check out the WDW stuff yet but the DL stuff is pretty nicely presented. From what I saw, they didn't mention any entertianment by name (although they did show clips of POD and even Animazement) but they did specifically mention "Remember.... Dreams Come True" when talking about the fireworks which is a good indicator that the show will be staying... at least through the end of the YOAMD.

I like the kid getting his embroidered mouse ears on Main Street in WDW, and the family riding in the two-across WDW Splash Mountain logs too. I really wish pictures of the actual park being advertised were used exclusively.

Luckily, it seems they actually put some time and thought into the DVD as its nicely arranged and there is VERY LITTLE mixing up of the two parks. The very few instances where I saw WDW stuff in the DL section was for things that they didn't seem to have video for (like Santa's Reindeer Roundup). In general, it's a very nicely put together DVD... and it's free!
