I know it is possible but do you have to use the WDW ticket at WDW first? Can I use it for my DL trip this year in Dec and still use the remainder of it in July next year? I do have no-expiration.

Re: Using WDW ticket at DL
They're likely to be more expensive than DL tickets, so why would you waste them? Are you planning never to go to WDW? Are you low on funds?
Answer, I believe, is "yes," simply due to above stated fact: they're more expensive than similar ones at DL, so it is more than happy to take your money.
(Although I should do the math first. I mean, a 10-day pass is cheaper per day than a 1-day DL pass.)
Big question is how to convert it, as the Main Entrance machine might not accept it, and a ticket booth might not be able to take one day off of your pass (convert a six-day pass to a five-day pass, for example).
Also, if this is the case, then this would be a great way to buy no-expiration passes to DL, though buying an AP would likely be less expensive and more day-able in one year. However, for a person who wants to go to DL, maybe twice a year for the next five years, could buy a 10-day WDW pass for $371 (plus taxes) today.

I am not sure if the scanner at the gate would accept the ticket though, since the parks use different styles of machines. Any CMs know how this would work?

Re: Using WDW ticket at DL
I found this bit of info on a couple of differnt sites:
Can I use my WDW tickets at Disneyland or any other Disney park?
Yes and no. The only WDW tickets that you can use are MYW passes and even then only at Disneyland in California. You will have to take the ticket to Guest Relations at DL and they will have to call WDW Guest Relations to confirm that the ticket is still valid. There is a drawback though. When the ticket gets converted, you will lose the ability to park hop at DL so you can only see Disneyland or Disney's California Adventure, not both in 1 day. UPDATE: AllEarsNet reader Ron Gordon reports that on his May 2005 trip to DL, he was able to convert his old WDW park hopper ticket to a DL park hopper so the policy may have changed.
You cannot use WDW AP/PAP's at Disneyland. None of the other Disney parks will accept admission media from any other park

Using Walt Disney World Tickets at Disneyland
Interesting, unpublished fact: you can use any unexpired, leftover days on a Walt Disney World ticket at Disneyland or DCA! Present the Disney World ticket at the gate on arrival -- they will take it somewhere, deduct a day from it, and give you a one-day Disneyland and/or DCA ticket. You can repeat this day by day until the Disney World ticket is used up. They will not give you a multi-day ticket all at once, even if you have multiple days left on your Disney World ticket.
The type of Disneyland ticket you will receive is based on the Walt Disney World ticket you present: if you have a Disney World ticket with the Hopper option, you will get a Disneyland Hopper that allows you to visit both parks in the same day; on the other hand, if the Disney World ticket had no Hopper option, you will get a one-day/one-park ticket and will have to pick which park to enter that day. This information was confirmed as of August 2006.
Disneyland passes are NOT accepted at Walt Disney World, and Annual Passes are only good at the park where they were purchased (WDW Annual Passes are NOT good at Disneyland, and vice versa). If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Re: Using WDW ticket at DL
You take your WDW Ticket DIRECTLY to the turnstile of the park you want to enter. They will page a lead CM and they will take your WDW ticket, run to a computer in a nearby office, and deduct one day from your WDW ticket. They will give you a one-day DL ticket (a park hopper if your WDW ticket is a park hopper). This process is very quick, no more than 2 minutes or so. We did this earlier this month.
Do not take it to guest relations or the ticket booths --- you will wait in their line just to be told that the ONLY place to exchange one day of a WDW tickets is at the turnstiles of the park.

Re: Using WDW ticket at DL
Were you specifically told not to go to guest relations first, molarman? I would imagine going to the turnstyle would unnecessarly hold up the line for the guests behind you, when guest relations could issue you the proper pass needed for DLR.
Is this something new that they started allowing cause I always heard that no tickets purchased for the two resort were interchangable?

I'm assuming that FL residents get some kind of discount. It's not important, though.

Re: Using WDW ticket at DL
it seems silly but since they are supposed to be " standardizing" the us parks it would make sense that Ap's and tickets should be transferable between the parks. especially when WDW offers a 10 day ticket and you can do most of the resort in 7 days or less. that leaves three extra days that could be used somewhere else. but also considering the cost of an ap at WDW, it should be good at DL as well. guess jay's team dropped the ball on this one.

We went to the Ticket Booth after Guest Relations because we had to buy a DL Parkhopper for one of our family members ... not enough WDW passes to exchange for all.
