  • Buttons for Next Year!

I went to Disneyland yesterday with my boyfriend for his birthday. Of course, we had to get him his birthday sticker...unfortunately, the sticker wasn't really holding up.

We got the sticker first thing when we got into the park, and then went on Space Mountain. When our rocket came back to dock, my boyfriend realized that his sticker had flown off So, we went back to City Hall for another one.

The second one was just barely staying on. Finally I decided to ask a few CMs if they possibly had a safety pin, and a nice lady in Pieces of Eight gave us one to hold it on his shirt. We walked out into the courtyard to fasten it on-another CM was standing there, looking bemused. We started a conversation, and she told us some interesting news. Apparently, due to the hassle of the stickers staying on, the resort will have buttons next year (yes yes I know you can get them in the hotel, but those are only birthday buttons and are only available there). From what she told us, there will not only be birthday buttons, but just married, first trip, and anniversary (and possibly more) as well, all available within the park! They apparently should be available hopefully in January.

I know, a bunch of you will probably say "Oh a CM told you, that's just a rumor, they don't know what they're talking about"-but I have high hopes that this is true and I look forward to January

A CM friend of mine told me the same thing but she said that it was going to be part of the whole "Million Dreams" thing. She also said that they were making ones for family reunions! I was given a birthday button on my birthday. I got it from a CM in Storytellers in the Grand CA Hotel.

    My best score ever!

That would be really cool, since our one planned trip is our anniversary. Hope it pans out, thanks for the heads up.

That is so cool!!! When I took my pal for her Birthday, her sticker wouldn't stick to her shirt, so she put it on her neck. The cool think was, the CM gave her two stickers, one to wear, one for her scrapbook, and we didn't even ask for two. How nice! (maybe they should just staple the sticker to your skin. Yah, it may hurt, but what's a little pain to tell everyone it's your birthday.)

I saw a little girl react to losing hers when I was waiting in line for Monster's Inc. She was pretty upset, I felt pretty bad.

When my daughter got her birthday sticker (she already had a Goofy's Kitchen button, a DLH button, a Disney Princess Happy Birthday pin from the birthday bucket, a Build-a-Bear Workshop sticker) we asked if we'd be able to transfer it to the outfit she was going to wear after swimming. The castmember made her another one for just in case and even offered an extra one for her scrapbook.

This would be correct. They look really cool too. I've seen them and the new CM nametags, which actually look really darn swanky (and say Disneyland, rather than Disney Parks). I'm sworn to secrecy though. :whistling

                Ok, full list of buttons:

                - Happy Birthday
                - Year Of a Million Dreams
                - 1st Visit
                - Happy Anniversary
                - Honorary Citizen (Yep, they'll be buttons now)
                - Just Married

How is it so hard to keep a sticker on? None of my friends ever lost their sticker.. I like the idea of buttons it's just that I'm astounded no one could keep a sticker on.

Well, chemically speaking, there's adhesive on the back of the sticker, which fades over time; said time being determined by various factors such as material it is adhered to, friction and moisture.

The sticker has never fallen off my regular cotton shirts, but I bet you it wouldn't stand 10 seconds on my catsuit.

My sticker stayed on for most of the day and only started to have problems after one of my friends took it off my shirt and then tried to re-stick it on.

We went to WDW for our honeymoon last October and they gave us buttons that said "Just Married" and it had a pic of Minnie and Mickey in their wedding attire. It did say WDW.

If this is the same button then it is really cool.

Consider that this is cold and flu season and your baby will be less than 2 months old and unimmunized for pertussis (whooping cough). Just suggesting that one considers the risks involved in taking a very little one out in crowds before they have had a chance to "grow" an immune system during cold, flu, and whooping cough season.

Can you get anniversary stickers now? Neat!

To live would be an awfully big adventure.
