I'd love to check in on a live web cam shot of Main Street, the castle in the background. Would it be so much to ask the execs for something like this?

Re: Should Disneyland Have a Live Web Cam? If so... What is it pointed at?
YES! I have seen and noticed the web cam shots from time to time on the news Channel 7, so far i have noticed 3 angles one seems to be coming from the area above the Golden Horseshoe, the others i am still trying to locate, BUT the big question was ,
How do we or can we access them? Most likely closed domain.
There is plenty of high speed internet all over the park you would think they could put one up for public access."I may never grow up! Its so over rated."
But as my kids do grow up, I am Glad they have enjoyed the Disney Magic.

We used to have webcams at WDW. The Magic Kingdom's was pointing from Main St. Station to the Castle. It was fun to see the parades roll by.
Sadly, they turned them off after 9-11.

I can't believe this has come up. I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. For those of us who don't get a chance to get to the park often enough, it would be a quick DL fix. I would like to see a cam on, or at least a realtime update of ride wait times!

Hey! I found this! You need a good broadband connection to watch it however!
Its a bit slow and glitchy on my computer... and takes a bit of time to focus but it appears to be live.Last edited by penguinsoda; 09-28-2006, 07:48 AM.

I just have to say I get this bad feeling that if there was a live webcam on Mainstreet that people knew about they would be tempted to sit there and goof off infront of it.
On the other hand being able to 'be' in Disneyland 24 hours a day 7days a week sounds really nice!
My favorite veiw would have to be directed at the Castle or somewhere near the Rivers of America.
Disneyland Visits - 264
DCA Visits - 52

Re: Should Disneyland Have a Live Web Cam? If so... What is it pointed at?
Although I'd really love to have in-park web cams, I can almost understand why some of them wouldn't happen; I can just see some idiot who doesn't understand the technology arguing "If they can watch the parade live from their computer, why would they pay for a ticket to come to the park?" Still, I'm shocked that they don't at least have one or two "general park" web cams; for example, the should have one on the roof of the Paradise Pier hotel, focused out over DCA as a whole. Sure, it wouldn't be close enough to watch people walking by and such (although that WOULD be cool!), but at least it would be SOMETHING...
Ideally though, yes, there would be several spots in the park that I'd love to see a webcam, like the roof of the Main St. train station... the roof of the Haunted Mansion or perhaps Pirates or the Golden Horseshoe, any of those overlooking the Rivers of America... one on the roof of Innoventions, overlooking Tomorrowland - or better yet, two of 'em up by the Observatron, with one watching the subs development, and one focused on the Matterhorn... or, perhaps instead a webcam back on the Small World building, so we could watch both parades down Small World Way, and still see the Matterhorn from that angle...
Oooh, the possibilities are nearly endless!

I would love to have more in park ones. I don't think it would discourage people from going to the parks because you just can't ride a ride on a webcam.

As much as I want to watch it, Im not gonna. I spend enough time on here goofing off, that would just add to it."I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. It should be on top of the castle pointed down main street, and another one inside splash mountain.
