I barely remember those. When did they stop selling those? My dad was a huge fan of them. He never left without haveing one.

Why is it that every time I eat beignets...that I always seem to be wearing a black shirt?

And every time I eat BBQ ribs...I always seem to be wearing a white one?

My husband used to get a 'Cannonball' fritter EVERY time we went to the Park. Now...never. The same thing is happening with the Monte Cristo sandwich. It used to be his lunch choice probably every fifth visit, last week (at the Blue Bayou) he said that was it for him. In his words, "He was resigning his membership in the Blue Bayou".

Ok... I tried these fritters last week for the very first time and I'm a fan of any fried dough! haha BUT I almost threw up when I bit into this one!! Worst thing I have ever put in my mouth at DL and that includes my fingers after rubbing them all over the hand railings or the hand grip on GRR (at DCA)!! :yuck:

Yes, they were fried nicely and it made it look apealing, but they were the worst tasting, eggy smelling thing ever! They served it with a little cup of "fruit dipping sauce" which I couldn't figure out what it was made of. It looked like a cup of gel like butter.

I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!! I would be open to trying the "old" ones though!

Yes! Back in the 80s, my friend and I couldn't properly start our Day without first getting one of those JUMBO fritters, and enjoying them in the Court of Angels before blasting off with all that sugary goodness for the next 17 hours!

    Lore said it all.
I was told, that the chief cook owned the large scoop to make the large fritters; and when he left, he took it with him. Sounds like BS to me...there was only ONE scoop? How was it his personal property? A firm as large as Disney can't find large scoops? I'm not buying it.
I miss the old 'cannonball' fritters...and the original mint julips.

The big ones are SO good. They are quite addicting. I love them. Sometimes my mom makes them at home for me.

Yeah, my friend Becky and I would go and she'd tear hers apart and say the insides looked like chicken skin - but that didn't keep her from eating it.

Where would I find these fritters?
In New Orleans Square - over in the little window at the French Market and then in the little window beneath Disney Gallery by Pirates of the Caribbean.

They are still tasty, but they used to be way bigger and just one instead of three.
