  • Christmas Decorations - When Do They Go Up?

    Hi All,

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but a co-worker today asked me if I knew when the Christmas Decorations are going up at the Park. (She and her family are going to be there Nov 10th. ) I always thought it was the day after Thanksgiving..but now not sure.

    So, anybody know the answer?

    Thanks!!!

Nov 10th is the start of the Believe.. in Holiday Magic, so I would guess some will be up by then, but proabbly not all. Darkbeer probably knows when the tree will go up.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

I think it is Nov. 10 as its now being advertised.

Id imagine as soon as Halloween is done they will take it down and start installing all the Christmas decorations. And maybe even the tree arriving in a few weeks backstage?

Christmas will be in full gear starting Friday November 10th (The Tree should go in after closing on the 9th).

The one thing that starts late is the Christmas Parade, which will start Friday, November 17th.

Re: Christmas Decorations - When Do They Go Up?

We were there around the weekend of 11/10 two years ago, and I was VERY disappointed in the lack of Christmas bling around the park...seemed to be about half of what it was 2 years prior. (That year we arrived the day afer TG)...I was told by CM's that they decorate early - and then add a lot more TG week, wish Santa arriving on TG.

Will the Parade of Dreams continue right up until the 17th?

I think the last day for POD for the 06 season will be on Nov. 12 which seems right as a lot of times when a newer parade takes over the current parade theres usually about a week in between the two.

The last Parade of Dreams will be Sunday the 12h.

There will be no parades Monday thru Thursday to allow staff to be trained, and to change out the floats. (They practice after the park closes).

It feels like they are getting an early start this year.

Last year felt late. I could have sworn the Tree wasn't installed until Nov. 17, or something around there---it felt like.

I have no direct info, but just a feeling that you'll start to see decorations, and maybe even the tree up even earlier than expected, this year.

Sorry, but that is wrong, it is usually backstage (near the Splash Mountain show building) by October 31st, but shows up on Main Street early Friday morning on the second Friday of November.

You might be right about last year, but I have seen it a few years it go up the 1st of November. They don't waste time to put it up, I'm not saying your wrong just I remember it going up just a few days after Halloween.

Re: Christmas Decorations - When Do They Go Up?

I believe in 2004, the tree went up the day after Halloween.

2005, the tree might have taken a little longer to put up, because they had to spray-paint it gold???? Or, whatever special things they did to make it a 50th tree.

I think Nov. 10 is being conservative, just in case the tree doesn't arrive, or they run into a glitch in assembling it.

For all we know, and I think it's quite likely, the tree will be up before the 10th.

It could feasibly be up, unofficially, the first week of November, but just not lit, and they'd do the official lighting ceremony (do they make a ceremony out of that?).....on the 10th.

                              Maybe.
