How is the service/food at this "new" sit-down location? Any recommendations from the menu?

Re: Cafe Orleans
I recommend you stay away from the seafood crepes, they're horrible. Others in my party had good things to say about the french onion soup and the chicken gumbo.
Service was OKAY, on the slow side and difficult to get drink refills. And they charged one person in our party for the meal TWICE.
Edited to add that we loved the beignets, especially with the creme anglais.

Re: Cafe Orleans
I have had the Monte Cristo and the the blackend Chicken Ceasar. Both were excellent. I would avoid the three cheese monte cristo. It was way too rich. My wife and I love the Pommes Frittes. They are just fries but the dipping sauce is excellent and they put garlic and parmasean cheese on them. I had the beingets in July and they were excellent. Nice and soft. They were still hot from the fryer.
I would like to know what you try. I am going next week and I plan on trying out the crab salad sandwich. It has looked pretty good when I have seen it around.Check out my new Disney Blog here. What it lacks in quality it makes up with... Well, nothing I guess.

It was in it's 'opening time period' - so many the kinks have been worked out.
OH- and there is this LOUD OBNOXIOUS PIRATE STAGE AND SHOW right outside the veranda where many Cafe Orleans guests sit.

I was there for lunch last Wednesday with my mom. We split the garlic fries, which were great.
When Cafe Orleans first opened, they had some service issues, but last week they were really great. Everything was timely and our glasses were never empty. One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching.

Re: Cafe Orleans
Everything is good. But people have different tastes, hence why somebody in this thread didn't like the Seafood Crepes. I love the Seafood Crepes.
But the best thing is the Monte Cristo and the Mickey-shaped Beignets. But again, as always, the quality of the food will probably change from day to day.
One day the beignets were really small and the next day they were really big and fluffy. So it depends.
I love the raspberry dipping sauce they have with the Monte Cristo and there's a sweeter raspberry dipping sauce for the beignets which is amazing.

Re: Cafe Orleans
The pomme frittes are great, garlic fries with dipping sauce. The last time I was there the shrimp salad consisted of two skewers of two shrimp stuck into a half head of iceberg in two wedges. The crab salad sandwich was OK and the Monte Cristo was good but, I think smaller than it used to be at the Bayou.

Also, they made my mouth itch. Swear to god. And I'm not the only one. When we were there for dinner, someone at the table behind us mentioned to his family "Hey, these crepes are making my mouth itch". I look behind me and sure as ****, he's eating tuna crepes.
They're just wrong I tell you, wrong.

It was a bad experience for us all around the board. Probably an exclusive experience, and then maybe not.
