I would enter into similar deals to Oriental Land Company's deal in Japan for the International parks, and halt expansion of NEW international resorts (sorry, Shanghai, we don't want to be stretched thin). The relinquishment of operations of those two resorts will release a large portion of financial expenditures, including operating costs!! Also, licencing fees for the parks would bring revenue.
I would then shore up the domestic parks. With the loosened funds, I would be able to direct funds into maintainence both parks (esp. WDW at this point).
So as not to build myself into a corner, I'd authorize Phase II of the Anaheim expansion, (which I had previously ordered planned) expanding Mickey and Friends into the North Lot and Pinnochio, increasing parking capacity to beyond today and the old lot. (I don't know if you've noticed, but Pinnochio is HUGE!
The parking extension would mean renewed investment in the tram area. Currently, the loading scheme is good for tremendous capacity, but the route would be given arbors and (of course) the load area would hear the Esplanade Music loop.
DTD gets it's northern expansion into their former parking lot, with a new lot being built both underneath and adjacent to the district (partially underground, of course).

Oh, well I guess Phase II is taken care of by WDI, but I'd clear the way for it.

It would include a new hotel, rebuilding of the Disneyland Hotel, removal of Timon for the DCA expansion, removal of Tram load area for the DCA/Tomorrowland expansion. Shuttles and busses would be redirected to the Tram Load by Mickey and Friends.

    Erm... pretty ambitious.
    NOW WERE TALKIN!

I would turn design ideas over to the Imagineers, as opposed to making them bring boardroom marketing gimmicks to life.

Finance would be focused on funding the concepts that passed muster in their shop.

Slow the turnover of CM's. Let Six Flags see how few teenagers can jam how many bodies onto a ride in one hour. Put the feeling that one is a 'guest' back into the park.

If necessary, cut the park capacity and *gasp* raise ticket prices.

I'd be original, and develop new rides with no tie ins, when POTC was built it wasnt built because of a movie, instead of the ToT they should have built a mine shaft ride on TSI, maybe they could do some sort of zip line ride over there.

I know this was hinted at here and there... but I'd add Harry Potterland. I have a good feeling (as well as many others) that Harry Potter isn't just a fad and it's going to be around for a long time (just like Star Wars). Adding Harry Potterland would mean bringing people into Disneyland for years... no, no, decades. Just imagine the possibilites. Countless ride ideas (riding Buckbeak, playing Quidditch, etc...) a Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, a Great Hall restaurant, etc...

The HP books create a land of fantasy in great detail... what better place to bring it to life than Disneyland.
and if you were bad at DL you'd get sent to Slytherin!!!

Action never should take place without a plan - a plan cannot be developed without a goal/objectives - goals and objectives cannot be determined without a diagnoisis of the situation at hand and a diagnosis cannot be made without an assessment. I would not proceed with any changes until the process was complete - that's why many things fail - the process is not followed and time and money is spent without a plan.

I'd lock myself in an apartment on Main Street Howard Hughes-style, wearing tissue boxes on my feet and attempt to fly using nothing but the power of a feather.

Eventually, I would become an attraction and the CMs would refer to me as a "less than life-like animatronic".

Is this a Bob Iger, head honcho of all of Disney position? Or a Matt Ouimett, president of Disneyland position?

    Two very different jobs.

If I were CEO, I would cut my salary in half, and bump up each and every CM's hourly rate and benefits. If you want to see improvement it starts in the trenches, not at the executive level. I would also start a comprehensive suggestion system where all CMs can offer suggestions on something, and it would be strongly considered ( not just window dressing like previously). I would also create a profit sharing system where CMs could own part of the resort which would also empower them to do better.

And I would give myself free churros and popcorn for life.

This is only in regards to the parks:

I'd eliminate Disney's management control over Euro Disney S.C.A. and Hong Kong International Theme Parks. The companies though would remain under quality controls in the same way that Disney oversees the Oriental Land Company. I would also like to devise a means of getting a cut of profits from these companies with the exchange being that they could do something if the American resorts ever failed to live up to the quality controls that Disney requires of the international partners. I actually think this might be feasable. Back in the 1980s Disney feared that the Oriental Land Company might cheapen the "Disney" name and hurt the American owned operations. Well if Disney is cheapening the "Disney experience" this hurts the international operations as they are still publicaly knows as "Disney" which only cycles back to Disney in lost revenue and more cheapening of the brand.
