    Re: Dumb Question

    Donation boxes for what?

I do know that all the coins from all the various water features are donated to charity. Like that? Or is there just a general "Disneyland General Upkeep Fund" that you are looking for?

Not that I'm aware of, aside from purchasing a ticket to get in the park!

It would be cool though- see that trashcan? I sponsored the painting of that trashcan!

I wonder if Disney would accept attraction sponsorship from some crazed fan with deep pockets?

                    Re: Dumb Question

You could consider a tip to be a donation. Are CM's allowed to accept tips (aside from food service)?

No, CMs are not supposed to accept tips. Not to say we do it anyways.

i have heard that policy says they have to refuse tips 3 times, but after that they can accept(they are supposed to run them in but, yeah right!) so if you really want to give a cast member a tip, offer, they refuse, offer again, they refuse again, offer again, they refuse again, then the next offer should be accepted or something like that.
                                or so i have heard

They have to refuse 3 times, then they will accept and turn it over to their lead. The lead turns it in and the funds are donated to a children's fund. CMs can be termed for not following procedures. They actually have shoppers whose job it is to test for this.

I knew about the first bit, never heard that it was supposed to go to the lead. I'm not sure I've actually read this procedure anywhere (everything I know about it comes from other CMs, and has a whiff of "if the teacher doesn't show up for 15 minutes, we can leave" to it), so I think it would be pretty contentious if they tried to term someone for it.

Well, if you are moved to giving a tip, it would be a shame if the CM gets in trouble for it. It would also be better to donate directly to a charity, if that's where your money is going to go anyway, because then it's tax deductible.
