  • Disneyland Dreams? Or....NIGHTMARES?

    Hello Everyone!

Im leaving for Disneyland Sunday, its a 6 hour drive from my neck of the woods, and I was looking at various Disney websites, and one mentioned the Submarine Voyage...and it reminded me of a regular dream I have.

Im swimming underwater through the Submarine Voyage, and all the lights are on and its night, and eveythings running but there are no subs, just me and the anamatronics. Well, nothing's been cleaned in years and everything's covered in alge and slime and suddenly I feel very gross, so I swim away from the grody fish and straight into the sea serpant in a similar state of gross moldy-ness. His joints are all rusted and his movements jerky, and suddenly he tries to grab me with his mossy teeth! Thats right when I wake up thank god.

Has anyone else ever had nightmares about Disneyland?

No, but I have a regular dream involving Ariel.

Or maybe its just a random redhead.

    Is that too much information?

I had a dream 2-3 times that I went on the Haunted Mansion, only to discover that they had redone the entire ride and ruined every aspect of it. That pretty much counts as a cruel nightmare in my book.

I had a very odd one a few months ago about the Mark Twain and the ROA. Basically my aunt and I were on the MT and part of the ROA fell away causing a big hole which we fell into. Then a tsunami came from the top of Splash. That was it in a nutshell. If you want a more detailed recount just PM me.

well, i wouldn't consider it a nightmare, but it sure freaked me out. It happend a couple of months ago when i had a dream about the haunted mansion. This was prior to the changes to the attic and the new bride. It was a tuesday night in which i had the dream where i got on the haunted mansion, and upon the attic scene, i saw the new bride. She was in the middle area of the room, opposite the ghost/shadow playing the piano and the only her face was a projection, similar to phantom manor's bride. Then as i entered the graveyard i woke up. Now here is the freaky part, i visit the park that weds only to discover that my dream had come true, that was the day the new bride debuted. It was a sureal feeling of de ja vu.

No, but your topic title made me realize what cool marketing they can do with Disney Dreams / Nightmares...

                Re: Disneyland Dreams? Or....NIGHTMARES?

I've had recurring dreams/nightmares since I was a little kid of trying to get to Disneyland, and trying, and trying, and then waking up before I finally get there. Other times, I dream that they've built a Disneyland right in my hometown, but I usually wake up before I get in there, too - and, of course, when I wake up, I'm very disappointed that there isn't a Santa Maria Disneyland. Or sometimes I dream that I'm at the park, but everything's different, which is sometimes creepy because even in the dream I can tell that its not right. Once, though, I had a dream about a walk-through Alamo-themed attraction that I rather liked, and in the dream I remembered reading online that they were going to tear it down, which I was upset about  .

The most nightmarish DL dream that I can remember was that I arrived at the park and went on what was supposed to be a transplant of Test Track, (but seemed like just a car wash) and a couple of other things, and then suddenly I found myself standing alone in front of It's a Small World. I said, "I wonder what time it is?", and then silently, ominously, the clock doors opened to reveal - 12 midnight! The park was already closed!NOOOOOOOO!

Once, my "trying to get to Disneyland" nightmare actually came true:

We were about a half-hour from the park, sometime in the early afternoon, somewhere on I-5 in Orange County, when someone in the car wanted to get off and get something to eat. We got off the freeway where we saw a McDonalds sign, but couldn't find it, so we headed towards a Jack in the Box - it was closed down. Then we spotted a Quizno's and headed towards that - closed down. Then, we realized we couldn't find our way back to the freeway. Finally, we found a rather dingy Carl's Jr. that was open and ate there. After we left, we managed to find Harbor Boulevard, so we thought we were home free. Here's where the "nightmare" comes in - we kept driving and driving down this seemingly endless Harbor Boulevard, going through town after town, all thinking surely, surely we would see some sign of Anaheim soon. After about an hour, the driver realized he had been reading the address numbers the wrong way, and had to turn around. After about another hour, the driver realized he had actually been reading them the right way in the first place, and had to turn back around. I really began to feel like my recurring nightmares had come true! We asked an elderly couple on a bus bench for directions - and they stared ahead as if we weren't there. Finally, we got directions from a gas station, and managed to find Anaheim - but we couldn't find the parking structure (at the time, we'd only been there one since it had been built). After accidentally turning into Cast Member parking, we finally managed to find the park - at 6 p.m. And it closed at 10. We actually managed to have a pretty good time, but there was certainly some mad dashing involved.

XenoSoldier, you didn't just dream it, you actually visited the Haunted Mansion in your sleep. Try to remember more of your "dreams." You may find that you've been visiting places more than you think.

Well, I had one nightmare (i mean, it TRULY upset me) about Peter Pan's Flight having Jurassic Park dinosaurs added to it, amongst other things. I can still describe it in detail, but that will take too long.

I had a similar dream about Storybook Land, though, insofar as swimming and not being in the actual ride vehicle. That was more disconerting than a nightmare.

About a week ago I had a dream I was walking down Mainstreet. It was dark and there were very few people around. I was just "taking it all in" when I found myself in the Mr. Lincoln que area, in Walt's Office. Except that there was no glass separating it. You could just walk in. I was looking at some of the things there, with my back to his desk when I heard someone speak to me. "They just don't understand do they? It's supposed to evolve, that is the idea." I turned around and Walt was sitting at his desk. With a half/smile on his face. He very gently looked at me, and a soft smile. "It's alright. Look around. It's alright." he said and smiled again. He asked me to sit and we talked for a while (I can't remember what exactly about). Then he motioned for me to get up and the two of us just walked around the park. He was laughing softly and pointing things out. Just walking and enjoying the night and the sights. We said goodbye and I woke up. Not sure what exactly it all ment. But it was a pretty magical dream.

Aloha, that was a cool dream.

I dream about Disney frequently. And my work. Usually when I'll be there in a day or so. No nightmares though.
