  • The 'Disney Insider Yearbook' Will Not Be Back

I received this e-mail tonight from Disney Online:

    Dear Yearbook Purchaser,

We'd like to inform you that your 2005 Disney Insider Yearbook, featuring Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration, will be the only edition of the Yearbook produced. Because of its limited production, the Yearbook is truly a Disney collector's treasure. For those who signed up for the annual Yearbook subscription, there will be no further charges to your credit card, as the 2005 edition will be the only edition produced.

Until October 20, the 2005 Disney Insider Yearbook will be available for purchase at:

    disney.go.com/inside/yearbook

This will be your last opportunity to purchase any additional copies. It makes a great holiday gift for friends and family!

For questions regarding your order, please do not hesitate to
    contact us.

    Thank you!

Your friends at the Disney Insider Yearbook
It appears the Yearbook was a bust. I can only assume sales were underwhelming.

So grab your extra copies while you still can. They're bound to be collectors items.

Yep, recieved this as well. It was a bust after all the hype and the survey they sent out.

I sprung for the $49.95 hardbound book with the DVD. I thought it was a bit overpriced for what you got. Still, I enjoyed it. You might want to try the $24.95 softcover instead.

I'm surprised they're not reducing the price to unload them. Maybe if the remaining stock continues not to move, they will.

Hmm.. that makes sense why they were posting it ALL OVER the Cast information locations to get CMs to buy it - they need to get those suckers purchased!!

They may have had more sales if they'd opened it up to the international market. I'd have gladly forked over the cash, but sadly, it was not available outside the US/Canada.

Was there anything on the DVD that was worth an extra $25? Any cool park stuff?

                        No more DL yearbooks ?

Got an email that said they decided not to produce any more
yearbooks. This year would be the only year and you can
still order some. I guess the demand was too low ?
                        Gawrsh !!

I saw it for sale in DCA. I figured that there must not have been a huge demand in pre-orders.

Yeah, I saw it in the Disney Gallery at DL last weekend. I thought pretty much the same.

Yeah, I got the same email...(I guess we all did)

Though I liked (not loved) the first one, I am not surprised to see future volumes discontinued. It almost seemed like too much promotion/advertising for my taste. And definitely TOO much of that big headed chicken!

I'm glad that I have my "collectors" edition with DVD, but I better hurry up and eBay the other two before the value drops. LOL

I loved the book, and I thought the DVD is a good keepsake. I'm not sure if it was forth the extra $$$, but it was fun to watch.

We got the soft cover and loved it. Was put together really well. Was fun to read and remember the things that happened in 05. I'm glad we got a copy. Wish they were doing more.

Was a bad move to restrict it to US/Canada only. Not very business saavy.

These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. I enjoyed my copy, but was disappointed that they didn't have more coverage from the actual 50th.
But hey, Disney is stupid like that. They could have made a small fortune selling DVD's of the 50th (July17th, 2005) along with coverage of the "50 Years of Magical Memories" event (which could have been extensive, since it was such a large event) to event attendees, but they didn't. And these were the folks that spent from $495 - $1955 per person to attend! I certainly would have thrown down another $50 for a commemorative DVD... but that's just me.
