  • If you could make up your own themed land......

What park would it be in, what would the lands name be, what would its theme be, what type of characters/entertainers would walk around in that area, what type of rides would it have, and would there be any type of story(ies) the guests would play into? EX/ Would the guests enter a themed land where the story is that currently they are walking on sacred grounds that had been just explored? Or wild west ghost towns that caused its villagers to leave because of famine, dry spells, bandits, etc.?

Have fun with your ideas and tell us all about them .

I would personally like to make an "Underground World: Atlantis" themed area. The story is that thousands of years from now, the lake that covered this lost city had dried up now giving us the opportunity to investigate what this lost city really was.

The entertainers that would walk around would be Mickey/Minnie in an explorers costume, the Atlantis movie cast, along with several other explorers.

This would be located at Tokyo DisneySea.

Most of the attractions there would be stuff like see what you can find in the dirt. But there would also be an Atlantis themed motion simulator ride, a rollercoaster, and a Splash Boats ride.

I would go DMCALand. It would be in DCA so we could have more fun. I couldn't say more until this thread went into gold though.

Strollers and ballons wouldn't be allowed though...

        Kids either...

Oooh...that's an easy one. Villains Land or Lair. I say tear out Toon Town and put this new land in it's place.

It was in Gold, but no one replied to it :lmao:. I tried to revitalize the Imagineering Lab club, nah, didn't work.

It's not really my idea, but I would love to put Liberty Square into Disneyland, connecting Fantasyland to Frontierland. The idea is to enter a colonial town at the dawn of the Revolution. It would be a small land, so not too many rides, probably just one E-ticket, The Ride of Paul Revere. It would be a half dark ride, half open air ride, and would sit where the Big Thunder Ranch is. For the characters, I would like to keep them more realistic, so no cartoon characters. Instead, you could have historical figures walking about. There could be a tavern-themed eating area, and a show featuring the Founding Fathers, possibly with AA's.

I know that this was once developed for the park by Walt and the WED guys, and I'm sorry it never got built. I think that it would be a great addition to the park and would add some lost Americana that the park needs back.

I like the villans land idea. I would like it to be at Disneyland. Get rid of the Fantasyland Theater/Pincess encounter and add it there. They would obviously need more space than that but that could be the entrance. Right next to toontown.

I would put an attraction like the Haunted Mansion Holiday there. It would be permanant though and would follow the movie storyline a little more with a big showdown between Jack and Boogie at the end.

There would be a dark rollercoaster like the villans idea that I have seen proposed for California Screamin. This would only be fighting off Malificent. They could light up certain sections that they want you to see like they do on the Rock N Roller Coaster at Disney MGM.

There could be a dark ride shooter like a cross between Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and MIB Alien Attack at Universal Orlando. They don't have lightup targets and have it set in a more realistic environment. The story could be about you going into a giant Disney Storybook to save a someone like pluto that fell through the pages into the book. As you go from room to room blasting the villans you could be turning the pages in the storybook. Until you reach the end and rescue pluto (or whoever) from the villans.

They should have all the villans walking the land. I would love to see the Jack and Sally characters from the CHOC walk out there. I know that they aren't really villans but they would fit in with the darker theme of the land. There could be a show were the villans try to recruit you to help them take over Toontown. Only to have Mickey show up and put and end to all of it.

It would be really great if they could cover the whole area in some kind of giant awning or roof that still left you outdoors but would make the entire place shady and dark. They would have to have streetlights permanantly lit. There could be a little fog. It shouldn't be too scary though. This is Disneyland afterall.

They could also forget about the pirate makeover and put this on TSI. With a little more time I think I could come up with some better ideas maybe.
Check out my new Disney Blog here. What it lacks in quality it makes up with... Well, nothing I guess.

I would create a land dedicated to the vision of tomorrow (for lack of a better name, I'd call it Tomorrowland). Each attraction would delve into some aspect of the uncertain, but optimistic future:

                  1. An innovative theater in the round where the audience rotates around a center stage to view audio-animitronic acts portraying man's colonization of the solar system -- we'll visit a science station on the moon, a self sufficient colony on mars, a research outpost on Titan, and end with a futuristic vision of how much better things could be on our home planet,

                  2. A series of attractions based on futuristic transportation options: electric cars zoom around on roads while above a mass transit system silently and efficiently takes guests on a relaxing tour around the land,

                  3. A tour of the ocean depths, visiting underwater habitations, aquaculture centers, and mysteries of the deep,

                  4. Take part in a desperate struggle against an evil galactic empire,

                  5. For fun, a romp through the blackness of space in a futuristic roller coaster with cool special effects and a kick-hinder sound track,

                  6. Board a flying saucer with 360 degree views of the fantastic places in the universe that it would take us,

                  7. Ride the tower elevator up to your own private rocket jet, which you pilot up, down and around,

                  8. A new interactive theater where the audience itself becomes part of the show, and actually influences what happens next.

I would place this land at Disneyland in the mostly vacant space between the right side of Main Street and Fantasyland (it looks like there's already a lot of infrastructure in place there to support my ideas -- maybe somebody at some point in time in the past had similar thoughts).

When I think about my Disneyland v.2.0 (which would just basically exaggerate all the basic themes of Disneyland and make them more 'life-like' - for example Tomorrowland would be a real futuristic space port or something), my favourite land is Fantasyland.

It is all inside a mountain (the park's castle coincidentally sits at the base of the mountain) and the inside is themed like a huge cavernous version of the gem mine in Snow White. Big pink, blue and green c gems are embedded in the walls etc., and fibre optics shimmer. I wish I was skilled enough to put this vision to paper and paint.

A pirates land! They could have things from Pirates of the Caribbean, Pirates of the Cairbbean: Dead Man's Chest AND Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It would be the most diverse area of the park!

                        Seriously though...

There are two lands that keep coming up in people's wishlists - An Underwater Land and a Villains Land. Not only are these both very good ideas, they are also the most logical for the park. The Underwater area has much to draw on: Pinocchio; Atlantis; The Little Mermaid; 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Finding Nemo.

The Villains area would also work incredibly well, and would serve as an interesting counterpoint to ToonTown. They could even have a border crossing between ToonTown and Villains' Land that would have a whole lot of mock warning signs and 'barbed wire' to ward off the toons from entering their land. It would be pretty neat.

Loomis here has already said it. But I was thinking of Villains Land.

I was just thinking something for Peg Leg Pete/Pete. Have a dark ride called Boom Da Boom. A little theater that shows Pete's history. Like some stuff about him before the Mickey-era. I think that would be interesting.Mickey-era included still; but I would like to see the before too. Sell Pete t-shirts and plushies.

Oh yes, throw in other villian rides too. Like something for Magica. Sorry I didn't think too much except for wanting more of Pete.

i say DCA should have an area devoted to zorro and/or Jaquin Murrieta the real life character that zorro is based on, you could have a horse theif roller coaster ride made somewhat like the steple chase ride( its at coney island i think) or you could use the technology of the motor coaster, plus a nice zorro show would be fun as well. basically an area devoted more to 1850's california that includes rides. maybe something to go with gold mining. i understand they are taking out fort wilderness, maybe they could make it sutters fort (the place were gold was first discovered). all of this would be hidden behind the tower and the hollywoodback lot. you could also install underground the western river expedition. that would make this land complete.
