I would love to see this attraction returned to the Opera House, preferably complete with the "Walt Disney Story" beforehand like it used to be.
Of course, I'm 50 years old and out of touch with the times. Word has it that plans are already being made for "Great Moments With Orlando Bloom", since today's youngsters have little or no concept of Honest Abe.

PS...In case you couldn't tell, just kidding about the last part. I think.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

ROFL! That was hilarious! Maybe Kiera Knightly will become part of the Storybook Canal Boats crew?
I must've missed something - is 'Great Moments' in danger of being axed?
The 50th movie was certainly fun to watch, but given that I don't get there very often, it would have been nice to see this groundbreaking attraction. It should certainly have SOME place in the park. As one of the first major audio-animatronic humans, it deserves pride of place in Disneyland. A Main Street attraction showcasing its place in Disney history would be ideal if they don't return the show as it was.
Alternatively, a "tune-up" using new Bloom/Sparrow technology would be rather grand.

Well, there's been no "official" word of it being axed, but there are rumors circulating that it's either not going to come back until the summer of '07, or not at all. I guess some big execs. are wanting to save some money and they're eyeing "...Mr. Lincoln" as a way of saving some. How, I don't know. I got the info. from MousePlanet.
Im what you call a "youngster" and i LOVE moments with Mr. Lincoln!!!!! I really hope they bring that AA back into business cuz he is sooo cool. DL is the only place i know of that brings that cool interaction with the past, tomorrow, fantasy, etc.
It should be saved. However they should get rid of that stupid 3D sound crap. Bring back the classic.
Hear, hear!
I want the one that gave me a lump in my throat not the more recent one that made me just shake my head and wonder why people feel the need to fix that which is not broken.
Since I never saw the original show without all the "3D sound crap" I can't comment on that. But as to the most recent show, I'd love to have it back! It was one of my favorite attractions.
:ap: How much longer? Are we there yet? Why aren't we there yet?:yea:
It would be cool if they could use the AA in a new show. Perhaps some other historyical figures. Maybe Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison, or Mark Twain.
If they wanted to break the turn of the century feel, maybe some 20th century figures. MKL Jr., Babe Ruth, and what would be really is a Walt (but apparently that's taboo or something, I've never heard any official story behind that).

Whehhhhhh!!!! :lmao: Good one
Stalking is when two people go for a long romantic walk together but only one of them knows about it.
Bring back Abe! Move Steve and Donald to an alternate location and keep them too.
Seriously though - I enjoyed both shows, so if there is a way to keep them both that would be great, but if I have to make a definite decision I vote to bring back Abe.
but there are rumors circulating that it's not going to come back until the summer of '07
Not a rumor. Nothing's happening to the Opera House for quite a while.
I never saw Mr. Lincoln. (Well, I've seen his feet.) My mom wasn't big on shows, so we never did it. I've heard enough stories about the nightmares of headsets that I hope they don't bring back the 2001 version.
Cinderella IV: The Bloodening
"It's okay, Beaker, we're scientists. We get paid to fail."
I really like Disneyland: The First 50th Magical Years....but, the fact is that Mr. Lincoln is a classic and, therefore, should return. However, the title of the show is The Walt Disney Story FEATURING Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, not The Abe Lincoln Story featuring Great Moments With Walt Disney. I would like to see the the focus shifted to Walt Disney. Maybe something along the lines of One Man's Dream in the Disney-MGM Studios.
Abe needs to come back, but to be relevant to today's youth, he needs to become "Disco with the Penny Dude!" I bet the guy who green lighted "Tiki Room: Under New Management" is available. Now I know you're thinking Main Street is themed to 1900, how does this fit? Well, Lincoln is 1860 and Disco is 1976. 1900 is between those dates so it fits!
