Meanest (Or Rudest) Thing a CM has Done...

This thread was prompted by some of the stories in the most embarrasing moments thread.

After I had knee surgery, I was in a wheelchair at DL with my girlfriend. We were both 18, so I guess it looked like we could have been fakers to get to the front of the line. Anyway, as we were getting on the Jungle Cruise, the guide started laughing and got on the microphone and said that we "had a handicapped person on board". But as he said handicapped he made those quotation symbols with his hands and winked his eye. Everyone was laughing and looking at me and the CMs on the dock started laughing. The worst part is, I was the last one off the boat and they didn't help me or get my wheelchair. I was going to complain to City Hall, but I got over it.

Now I know CMs do a great job, but just for kicks, has anyone encountered any bad apples?

i really dunno how constructive of a post this will be. we've all had sour experiences w/CMs here and there, but hey..they're people too and have crummy days just like the rest of us.

i'll end by saying---i've had so many enjoyable experiences with CMs, espcially in our last two trips, that the past doesnt' matter anymore.

Sometimes that does happen, esp when it does look like fakers... sometimes you need the slip to show you need help.

I had a time in Fantasyland when a Cast member at one of those beverage carts said to me after I asked for my drinks ask me "Are going to payfor that?" and I said yes please give me a minute to get my money out. In doing so she had this disgusted look on er face. She took the money and I asked if she was having a bad day and she said rather snotty no. By then I just walked away but I wish I had gotten her name.

I don't really think that I could add to this. I have had some bad I'm sure but I don't really tend to focus and them. That makes it kind of hard to remember them.

The lead CM (He's still a lead there today, too!) at BTMRR yelled at us for going to the wrong row by accedent. And he has yelled at otheres including myself in the past. Hes a jerk. Ive heard stories on other boards about this guy.

Worst thing I ever enountered at DL was a supervisor CM who chastised another CM for something she ended up not doing. It was probably something that I, as a Guest, should not have heard. Thing is, I was the only one in the place (which shall remain nameless) and it didn't spoil my time there at all. If there were families or kids there, it might have been a different story. The whole thing was really insignificant...especially compared to all the really wonderful CM's I've encountered at DL or, for that matter, WDW.

The problem is most CM's at BTMRR that I've talked to are kinda stuck there because they're mid-seniority and don't have enough seniority to request a different area. Plus BTMRR is a cross-train only attraction, which means you need to have a tad of seniority to be working there in the first place. Nevermind the fact that the reason not many people wish to work there is because how complicated it is to operate.

IMO when it comes down to it a jobs, a job. Disneyland or not, work is work and you always have those bad days. Of course the cm are not going to be little miss sunshine 24-7 (even though they get paid to be!) There are rude people everywhere in this world, and you also gotta think that disneyland crowds are not the easiest people to deal with sometimes. working with the public is a job in its self! And at the end of the day everyone is super tired and im sure the cm are too if not more then we are. You gotta give them some credit.

The rudest thing a CM has ever done to me was being nice and having a conversation about all our favorite Disney Afternoon shows when I visited in August . They made my trip memorable and I still think that was the funnest thing at Disneyland I did that day.

Yesterday after CHOC Walk I was in the park for a few hours and on the way out I saw Bert and Mary Poppins walking together. You don't see them often so I went up to them with my friend and was told they were going in and wouldn't take any pictures (according to Mary Poppins). I said okay and was about to go when Bert had my friend link arms with him and told us to follow them. When they were about to go into their break room Bert insisted we get a picture with them and handed my camera to someone, Mary Poppins was visibily ticked off about it. I just thought she was kinda rude during the whole experience but the picture came out lovely! Bert was such a charmer!

I went on Honey I Shrunk the Audience on a fairly slow day. We had waited for quite a long time and were the first ones in the auditorium. We sat in the middle (of course) and a cast member asked me to move all the way to the end. Usually I am more than happy to accommodate the CM's (having been ex-security myself for a few years) but this time I wasn't because for some reason, we were being singled out. Everyone else was sitting in the middle and it was empty enough that it made no sense for us to move all the way to end since there was plenty of room for everyone to sit in the middle. When I pointed this out to the CM, he threatened to call security because I was not doing as he ordered. I couldn't belive how rude this kid was. Needless to say, I left the auditorium and went right to City Hall to complain.

I can understand having a bad day but this guy was way out of line.

This didn't happen to me, but I witnessed it.

One time, in one of the little side streets off Main Street, I saw Goofy beating the living daylights out of this man, while Mickey held him down. Donald and Minnie were holding the guy's wife and kids back, and the kids were all crying "daddy! daddy! Tell Goofy you're sorry!" and the wife was in tears, helpless. This man was just a bloody wreck. Teeth missing. Blood all over his face and shirt. Mickey then egged Goofy on: "kick him in the nads, man, kick him in the nads, show this mofo who runs these streets." Goofy finished him off with a swift kick to the groin, and when Mickey dropped him on the ground, the two of them leaned over and spit right on him before walking off (people got OUT of their way from then on). Goofy then ran back real quick and kicked the man in the side again for one last measure and called him a punk. Then the paramedics arrived and whisked the man away quietly.

I really wish I'd had my camera then. It was shocking.

Only time I encountered a memorably rude CM was my birthday last year. The Matterhorn had just gone down and I wanted to ask some nearby CMs if they knew when/if it was going to be back up. So I approached a group of three teenage girl CMs who were talking. I didn't want to be impolite and interrupt them so I waited until they finished.

However, they just continued to chat about which of their friends was getting off that day and various other trivialities. I knew they knew I was standing there because I was literally standing within their circle and they would occasionally glance over to look at me as they talked. Finally after several minutes of chitchat, one asked me if I needed something. I almost forgot why I was standing there in the first place!

This other time, I was scoring some hashish from Aladdin behind Bug's Life. All of a sudden, Jasmine comes over, grabs my stash and lights up. It was SO rude. She didn't even ask. I mean, what a princess!
