WDI was on TSI Today

WDI spent a good hour on TSI early this morning...

There were about twelve shirts on the island, they all had their schematics, notebooks, and digital cameras. They spent most of their time on the Fantasmic! stage, and on Castle Rock taking pictures of Everything (including the surrounding relevant areas around the island).

When asked about the "Pirating" of the island, differant stories were told..

first person I asked about the pirates said, "no, of course not", while another said they were just "sprucing" it up for next summer (hmmm lets see, what MAJOR movie opens next summer?....)

another expressed hopes of bringing great changes (non-specific) rather than minor changes.

Doesn't suprize me, if this is going to happen, plans need to be made quickly, and it's never too early to start planing.

I know that they are under a lot of heat over the suggestions for the Island. I just hope that they DO SOMETHING! The island needs TLC.

Same here. I can understand a temporary retheming to help promote the movie (i.e., pound the concept of POTC into the ground until everyone and his grandmother is sick to death of it), but it should always remain Tom Sawyer's Island permanently.

I say rebuild Fort Wilderness and use it as a jail for annoying Disney lawyers with stupid ideas.

I have one major concern. I really don't care if they change the theming of TSI as long as its done creatively. But what will happen to the Fantasmic! stage?

I'm not worried about this at all. From what I have heard, I think you guys are really going to like the final product. Most of the elements that you love about the island will still be there. The fort will be replaced with a new structure that can actually be used by the guests and there will be lots of new interactive features on the island. Really, it is just an excuse to use studio money to fix the island. Not so bad.

The stage would stay, the Fantasmic! control rooms would be relocated to the back of the island (which wouldnt be too bad of an idea.)
