  • taking a jogging stroller

My favorite stroller is a jogging stroller. I am going in Nov sun-mon thanksgiving week hopefully somewhat before the big crush. Would I be snagged by the mouseka ears and tossed into the rivers of America if I took a jogging stroller? Are they just too large for crowded days?

    thanks
    Janette

I'm not entirely sure how large a "jogging" stroller is, but please, for the sake of the rest of us sharing the park with you, bring one of those umbrella strollers instead.

I did take a jogging stroller once and it was a complete pain. On some rides (like the train or monorail, or anything you take the stroller with you) you have to fold the stroller up and mine didn't fold up with all the stuff in the bottom of the basket. Plus, mine doesn't have a swivel wheel so turning was not fun - especially in crowds. If you lifted the stroller, chances are you'd put it down on someone's calf or foot. If you have the choice, take an umbrella stroller.

I would never take a jogging stroller. They are so big that in more cramped spaces you can't really see your wheel over the stroller. I think even the strollers that Disney rents are too big. Umbrella strollers are much better for the parks in my opinion.

At least when it hits me in the back of the ankles it won't hurt as much as the normal ones do.

              Too big though...

I understand the need for strollers, but I am so glad that I don't need to use one anymore. They are a huge pain in th A**. For yourself and those around you - the best bet is to bring the smallest stroller that you can.

Back when we had to use a stroller in the Parks, we bought one of those umbrella strollers to use just on our trips there. Our regular one practically needed an engine to move it, and we didn't want to take that one into the Parks. Too annoying for all involved...

Glad that we're beyond that stage now!

                        Good luck!

I don't understand thos people that bring these huge EXPENSIVE strollers into the park and leave them unattended outside of rides. You would think they get stolen on occasion.

In my opinion I wouldn't take a jogging stroller simply because it's too hard to fold up and take on the train. But I wouldn't bring an umbrella stroller either. I would take just your plain ol stroller that reclines and has cup holders simply because it's more comfortable for your child than the umbrella stroller. (plus it has a spot to carry your diaper bag.) Of course this is if your kid is 3 and under, maybe older kids are comfy in an umbrella stroller. . not sure yet.

Just make sure you bring one with a swivel wheel. I have no idea how people use the big three wheel ones with bike tires on them, they're completely unmaneuverable. But yeah, striking a balance with size is difficult. You need it big enough to comfortably fit the child and anything that absolutely needs to be in the stroller with them, but small enough that they don't have to reduce the park's capacity by 5 people just to accommodate it.

Jogging strollers are very large, yes, but their size is not what you should worry about. I had a friend attempt to bring one of these things into the park and fell victim to a very unfortunate series of events.
One of many obstacles she faced was toon town. I guess for a joke, Rodger Rabbit and some other pranksters decided to put toon-size tacks all over entrance to toon town. She was looking off to the side, not forward and down as she should have, when all of the sudden "pphheeeessssshhhhh" popped tires everywhere!

Other stuff happened, but this truely put a damper on the rest of her visit. Needless to say, she got rid of the stroller, put the kids up at grandmas for the weekend, and has not been seen since. That was six months ago.
Ah, how strange! The molecules are so active now!

It has been a few years since we have used it, but we would bring a double jogging stroller with us. We loved it. It was a different color than everyone elses so it was easy to spot. We were lucky that no one ever took the stroller or anything out of it. I know you can't take it on the Monorail or train, but it didn't bother us. Sometimes I wish I still could use it just to put all our junk in it!

                                        Re: taking a jogging stroller

Twinner joggers are WAY too wide to go through the crowded walkways. You think its hard getting a regular stroller from Frontierland to New Orleans during Fantasmic?

Take it if you want to limit your access during the busy times or you want to keep even more people behind you.

Now front to back double strollers are fine. Narrow track can get into different areas relatively easier.
