Re: Southern California CItyPass and Monorail question
We purchased the California CityPass last summer and we exchanged the voucher at DL for a 3-day park hopper ticket. It was a regular park hopper ticket with one day of early entry.

Re: Southern California CItyPass and Monorail question
I've also wondered whether or not you get in quicker using the monorail, and I can think of at least one trip report that mentioned getting off the monorail and being the first person in Tomorrowland.
In my experience, however, I think you have to get to the monorail station very early, since you usually will not get the first train, and will have to wait 15-25 minutes to get the next one.
More importantly, it's the policy of many of the ride operators to begin strictly at park opening (8am, 9am, or 10am), which puts monorail riders at a disadvantage. It's much closer to be at the gate or at the rope drop when they officially open at whatever time they open on that day.
If you want to be first, I'd use the gates, and not risk the monorail.

Re: Southern California CItyPass and Monorail question
Ok. So just to confirm, there is a park hopper included so I do have the right to early entry?
I was just afraid it wouldnt count because it might have been a specail ticket that doesnt include the normal parkhopper tickets.

Also, right now none of the information on Disney's site past the last day of the year is official or current. With construction going on with the new "Nemo" ride there's a chance they could shut the Monorail down again. I'm not saying it'll happen, but it is a chance. Also, there is an EXTREMELY EXTREMELY SLIM chance they could get the "Nemo" ride done by March. I highly doubt this, but if Disney wants something to open up quick they could be doing 24 hours shifts with the construction which would speed things up.
Basically what I'm saying is that I would check back on Disney's site once it gets closer to the month of March. Then you'll have a better idea as to what's going on with the Monorail.

Re: Southern California CItyPass and Monorail question
yes, it is a park hopper.
the price is $199, you get 3 days at disney (doesn't have to be used 3 days in a row - within the 14 day period of the pass), a pass to universal studios, sea world and then your choie to san diego zoo or wild animal park.
i believe you get the early entry on one of your 3 days at disney. you just need to ask, when you pick up the park hopper tix, what day would be open. (the e.e. runs on certain days).
i think on the e.e. its the fantasyland rides that open. but after the park opens, head on over to space.

Southern California CItyPass and Monorail question
So my family decided to go to california instead of Florida and we were looking at teh CityPass for Southern California
It comes with threee days at the disney parks but does that make it a parkhopper?
I cant rememeber if it counts as a parkhopper therefore entitling us to an early entry to Fantasyland or not.
Any Help?
Also, if i wanted to be the first one on space mountain or the matterhorn, would it be quicker to monorail into the park as soon as the monorail starts up for the day or would it be quicker to enter the normal way through Main Street U.S.A.?
I know the monorail is closed RIGHT NOW but it will be open by March according to teh Disney website and that is when we are going.Tags: None
