  • What happened to Fortune Red???

I went to Disneyland this weekend and to my dismay walked into the refurbished Pieces of Eight store and the Fortune Red machine is gone!!!!!!! I asked as many cast members as I could throughout the entire day and not one of them knew what happened to him? Does anyone have any information on if he is gone permanently or just being fixed?????

Fortune Red was a fortune telling machine, much like the one on Main Street but pirate themed.

I'm also missing the old hag in the cage that asks you to let her out. She promises to turn water into gasoline if you do.

Let's hope someone is simply refurbishing them to return them to the parks at some later date. Yes, let's think that.

The CM's at peices of eight are very disoppointed in Fortune Red's departure.

Let get serious, Fortune Red is so dated looking he really belongs in an 1850's New Orleans rich with pirate lore, not in some mall store selling plush toys and candy! Oh wait. I was just thinking about what I said and he would work!

Hasn't Fortune Red been missing since the Pieces of Eight reopened from its remodel earlier this year?

Wasn't Fortune Red a replacement for another female fortune teller that used to be there until the late 90s or so? (I'm not thinking of crystal arcade).

Re: What happened to Fortune Red???

When Pieces Of Eight first reopened I asked a CM that was working and a guy who seemed to be in charge. What they told was that in redesigning the place no one remembered to leave a place to put Fortune Red. Every inch of the wall are covered with shelves and hangers so there is no place to put him. I was hoping that when they opened the new "curio" shop he would be in there, but..........

The AP Newsletter made a big deal about the remodeling of pieces of eight and said the style was to return to when it was the arcade. Then where is he?

Well that just seems really unprofessional.. I mean to go through all that to remodel the place, and then forget a place to put the things that were in it originally? I really hope they take away some of the precious racking space for all the Jack Sparrow figures and bring Fortune Red back!!! It was a tradition for us every time to get our fortune told after we exited Pirates...

The Pieces of Eight machine is back. It's in the new Port Royal store. Unfortunately, as of last Sunday it (still) was out of order.... Don't know if it's fixed yet though.
