A real DCA survey, very interesting... What are YOUR choices?

A few days ago, I was stopped just past the DCA turnstiles and was asked to scan my AP by one of the "survey" folks.. which I did, then was asked for my e-mail address....

Today, I got a survey in my e-mail...

The first part was a lot of "fill in the blank", where they asked a lot of open ended questions...

(And it looked like it was from the "DCA Problem" side of TDA...)

Things like...

How would you describe DCA to your friends and family

How would you describe Disneyland to your friends and family

What things do you like about DCA

What things do you think need attention at DCA

Etc...

Then they had this question....

If you had the chance to improve DCA, pick up to 3 of the following choices....

1. More Thrill Rides

2. More Rides for Young Children

4. More or Better Themeing on existing Rides and Attractions

7. More Disney Characters

The second question was which ONE of the list is the most important to you in improving DCA

So here is the question, and I am asking you NOT to use choices 24 thru 26, but the individual choices... Which THREE would you choose? And then which one of those three is most important to you?

3, 11, and 12 (though I would've wanted to add 4 to the list as well if I could, only for certain things...).

Most important would be family rides - well-themed, mind you. Something up to par with Pirates of the Caribbean *coughWesternRiverExpeditionGoldRushcoughcough*.

I believe 17 to be the most important change they could make.

I also believe an answer to the fill in the blank could be additional moderate prided full service restaurants.

And I would also like them to either pay more attention to the theme or get a new one altogether. I mean, are bugs really a big part of the culture of California?

The three i would choose that they should change is 1 because Diseyland showed add new rides instead of changing the ones we have, 18 is a thing that needs to change a lot because they can afford to reduce prices, and 23 they need to reduce the lines, face pass works only when you have them otherwise you wait a long time espescially during summer.

The most important is to reduce the price of the tickets because it will be more affordable and more people will come. They can easily reduce the ticket price because the food price is high and they make a lot of money on that and souviners They have so much extra money that a reduce in ticket price will still give them a lot of money.

Of course like most I could choose several here but if limited to three -

16 - Change Caifornia theme

18 - Lower ticket prices

11 - better atmosphere

Most important...16. I never understood the concept of placing a park about California, IN California where people could see the real thing.

Disneyland's appeal relies heavily on the way it looks.

Why are Disneyland's rides more special? Theming. Part of theming is landscaping, to be visually pleasing.

Walt refused to have the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland to have a dilapidated look, even though it's supposed to hold ghosts. He didn't want anything looking ugly on the outside.

DCA doesn't really have an appealing or pleasing look about it (IMO). It looks cheap and unloved from my perspective. I know that I'm not alone in these feelings, either.

Wow, what a variety of questions. Even at choosing 3 it is so hard to single in on the things that I would like to see. Although I like DCA, there are so many things that could be done to make it that much more. OK, so my first choice would be, uh, I can't say, really I'm struggling with 23 different choices. Sorry

While I'm done with DCA bashing...it's just not productive...I must say I agree wholeheartedly.

I can't stand the music track in DCA anymore. If I have to hear California Dreamin' one more time, I'll scream!

Most important to me is a combo of 3 & 4. I don't care about theming of existing rides as much as I'd rather see more family rides with theming. And I'm not talking about "boxed" rides, but new original rides on the lines of POTC, HM, and Indian Jones.

Id put 1, 2, and 3, as one item "MORE RIDES PERIOD"

then the other two would be

17 - longer hours
and
22 - transportation.

I'd go with #4 as most important if I can use it with modifications. I've always referred to DCA as "the themeless theme park." "Here you leave greater Anaheim and enter a world of... greater Anaheim." Or... "Welcome to California. Now that you're here, we'd like to take you to....California." :bang:

The "theme" of this place has bugged me since it was first introduced.

It might be too late to change the entire theme of the park, but much of Al's latest update sounds like a step in the right direction. Change the time period....SOMETHING! Otherwise, it's a very nice outdoor mall with some cool rides.
