  • Disneyland needs to highten their security...

They should add in metal detectors or maybe people with little metal detectors that can check people coming in. Anybody can bring in weapons secretly and no one would know unless they used them. Let Disneyland's history with dangerous weapon users provide as an example for this.

I want metal detectors placed in each person's home, so they can't go out in public without a proper search.

Because, I need wherever I go to be safe.

        Yes, I was being facetious.
        Yes, your suggestion is ridiculous.

          Deja vu much?

Extra security would be a waste of everybody's time and Disney's money and resources.

There isn't a threat at Disneyland, people getting stabbed or shot doesn't happen, and brining on precautions like this would instill a message to tourists that there is dangerous people lurking around, alienating them from vacationing at the Resort.

          Its bad and entirely unnecessary.

ReaLYY?! you don't think it's possible for anyone to get hurt at disneyland by weapons? The more security there is outside the park, the safer it is inside the park! that souds like a plus++

              1) Disneyland has the money!!

2)People have been stabbed at Disneyland (Yorba-O'Driscoll case; yorba stabbed..)

3)People have brought guns to disneyland - there is a spider covering a bullet whole on haunted mansion for a reason... someone was able to get the gun in!

4)You just don't want to admit that at disneyland, dangerous things can happen. Here is a book that may enlighten you all.."Mouse Tales: A Behind-The-Ears Look At Disneyland" by David Koenig.

You can also get stabbed at the local mall and when you consider that it's been 51 years, Disneyland is probaby less violent than your local mall!

Re: Disneyland needs to highten their security...

I have always thought DL needs more security. I bet everyone's mind would change about this once somebody is stabbed or shot inside the park. I hope this would never happen but it is all too real for it to eventually happen. We all felt safe on airplanes until one was hijacked and it killed people. Did our mind's change about flight security? I for one would definetly not mind waiting an extra 15 to 20 minutes for a bag to be properly checked. In today's world there are no many crazies and there is always the idiot that is going to try something stupid and CM's with orange vests are not going to stop them. It is only a matter of time before something happens at a theme park, not necessairly DL, and we will all start raving for more security. DL do not wait until something happens, add security measures NOW to deter and even prevent something from happening. I for one still feel safe inside the park, but there is always that feeling what IF someone did get into the park with a bomb?
Would a CM if seeing a gun or knife or strange object in a bag actually do something about it or would they just let it go by without saying anything? The CM's that I see working the security are sometimes so clueless.

excellent examples...the CM checking bags never really pay attention

Re: Disneyland needs to highten their security...

There is an area next to security check, in the eating area of La Brea Bakery(closest to park) where I have seen individuals actually move the blockades and go through a gate to pass through security and CM's were watching them do it! This is how bad it is and it NEEDS to be fixed immediately! We even went to Guest Relations to fill out paperwork about the incident and they didn't care saying the problem is being looked at!

                          1. "Really" what?
                          2. False. Anything is possible.

Why is Disneyland so important? (I know, silly question at this message baord.) More important than any other place in the US? It's not as if someone is going to hijack DL and fly it into a building.

There is a feasibility issue: how big of a security area would be required and how much longer would it take to scan everyone?

And for good measure, I'll quote something the lovely Morrigoon has previously said on this topic (and which I agree 110% with):
