I'm just one of those Asian DDR-ers out there. Haha, but I'm not overly obsessive that I "freestyle." But yeah... I haven't actually looked around in there.
If Galaga in there? Galaga's never out of date. (=
Put a ride there instead or use HISTA and the arcade to make a ride. Im not at DL to play Video Games Im there to ride rides and do stuff I cant do at home.
Plus the arcade is NOTHING Special the theme sucks for a Disney theme park. They could have made it much cooler but I would rather have a ride there, Flying Saucers? Maybe?
When I was a kid, I found myself spending at least an hour everytime at Starcade with my friends playing airhockey. But that was when the Starcade was this spacious play area with an X-Wing hanging overhead. Now it's just a tiny nothing-special arcade without any violent games.

I can't really remember what games are in there at the moment, but I've never played them. I don't really see Starcade as being necessary and wish they'd give it a little Disney touch, like they used to in the old pirate arcade. A good start would be putting Disney plush in the claw machines instead of the random ones in there now.
There are many interactive type of games Ala DDR (dance dance revolution for the uninitiated which utilizes body movements to play) these games are fun to play and to watch people play. These games are also a great revenue generator which is a win win situation, fun for the guests and great for the bottom line. I have heard that the Starcade is now run through a private 3rd party company which handles maintenance etc. I would like to see DL make sure that the Starcade is kept updated and make sure the newer type of games are brought in to keep it fun and fresh.
We don't need a DisneyQuest. We just need to move it to DTD and make it somewhat interesting. I don't know what the current selection of games looks like but I'd like a section with nice restored retro machines.
One my fondest memories at the Starcade was on the upper level, playing Ms Pac-Man on the full-sized machine, while my son played it on the midget childrens-sized machine (seriously, it was like the same machine but shrunk in the wash,) and we raced to see who could complete the level the fastest. Guess who won? Darn ghosts...
I think it would be a good idea to have retro type games. Last time I went in there and actually played a game, I played Pac Man and Bust-A-Move. A good idea would be to remove it and put a Gameworks in DTD or if we'd keep it, open up the second story again.
Nahh... use the Starcade as the queue area for Space Mountain. Think of the detailed preshow they could pull out of that building... both floors. It's not big enough for a ride, and it would get rid of that horrible rooftop queue for Space. Then they could open up that rooftop, remove the shade ledges, and have a better view of Space Mountain itself.
I kinda hope they keep it around but figure out how to make use of the top floor. That was part of the alure of the place was to play games in an airconditioned environment while people waiting in line for space mountain baked in the sun.
I also like the name: "Starcade". That's just too cool.
Build an attraction in that space please! Remove HISTA, move the Startrader to the old HISTA building, and rehouse Star Tours in the Inovations building. Two things would occur: #1, that corner of TL could be easily themed to the Tommorowland Spaceport with SM, ST, Red Rockets, and StarTrader. #2 you have opened up a huge amount of space for a new TL ride, maybe even two rides and expand a tad into the large backstage area between Main Street and TL.
Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.
