  • Did you know...

Everybody knows that Disneyland's address is 1313 Harbor Blvd.

    But did you know...

That M is the 13th letter of the alphabet? Which translates (kinda) into MM Harbor Blvd. A Mickey Mouse address if there ever was one.

Thought you might like to know.

Wow. Cool, sort of, I guess lol. I certainly wouldn't have thought that much into it, but maybe Disney planned it that way?

When Uncle Walt purchased such a large parcel of Orange County real estate, he did find himself in a unique position. What would be Disneyland's address? Well, he could pretty much name any "number" he wanted to. (Don't you really think that being Walt Disney was just beyond cool!) Yep; he picked 1313... and for that, I respect him even more. Not only did he have a sense of humor, he was pretty clever too!
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

That's either the work of genius or someone who has too much time on their hands.

However, given that I am posting here regularly, I clearly have the same issue.

                All hail MM Harbor Blvd!

July 17th is also exactly 13 days after July 4th. I'm sure that means something since Disneyland is the story of America.

Man heh. i was gonna make a joke about "and opening day in 1955 was 13 years after <so and so>" but I go and look up famous events 13 years prior and it's completely filled with world war ii and holocaust things like the deportation from the warsaw ghetto. That woulda made some great walt disney comments :P

I just though that Walt hated superstition - hence having two 13s in the address to prove that nothing would go wrong.

Of course, the Contemporary at WDW ended up having no 13th floor.

I'm pretty sure I read the same thing too somewhere. He made that the address because everyone was telling him that Disneyland was going to be a huge flop, so he chose the address as 1313 because 13 is a 'bad luck' number. 50 years later...some back luck

That number/alphabet gimmick has been used for years. There must be a name for it???
