The Country Bear Jamboree should be put right back where it was. Put Pooh in Fantasyland."Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

Bring it back, please. Don't know the island would be a good place for it. I remember it having some pretty big crowds. The rafts would not work.Originally posted by lazyboy97OHow is a state religion bad, but state medicine good?Originally posted by steamboatpeteAnyone who makes the decision to depend upon the government to take care of their basic needs has essentially doomed himself to a life of bitter disappointment.

There is already a very similar topic and poll right here.
Country Bears have overwhelming support, even after 5 years.
I'm not going to vote on this topic, check the other topic
for my post. By the way, here are the current results for the
already existing poll:

Re: Would it be a good idea to bring back the country bear Jaboree...
Mmmm.... I say no. Though it's more popular than the crappy Pooh ride, it wasn't popular enough for me to ever crave to see it. I like the idea of having WDW keep it. You know... makes the parks a bit more unique. I don't think I'd want Pooh in Fantasyland either only because there's nothing I'd want to have it replace.
I guess if they want a quick comeback, what they can do is just build a bunch of fuzzy character suits, play the soundtrack and have the characters mime it in the corner of Critter Country. I dunno.

Re: Would it be a good idea to bring back the country bear Jaboree...
This is just the perspective of a newbie, but perhaps I offer a slightly different look at the situation.
I have a vague memory of the Bears from back in 1987, or at least I think I do. (I guess that's why they call it a 'vague memory'). I've seen footage since then, and from the combination of the two, it was a fun animatronic show that had a long-lasting appeal. The overwhelming support for the attraction even now - years after its departure - is a testament to that fact.
However, at what point do we let the past go? It is one thing to protest the removal of the Tom Sawyer trappings and replacement with Jack Sparrow: it is a current attraction that has support and the very vocal community that could legitimate do something about it. On the flip side we have the Country Bears - an attraction that is now part of Yesterland.
While I'm all for brining back older attractions that have a fanbase - hell, I'm really happy about the Subs coming back - I worry about the dangerous precedent that it sets. It is backwards looking, rather than being about looking at what is new and exciting.
I'm all for tradition, don't get me wrong, and I believe there are some attractions that should be "heritage listed". However, bringing back the dead is a dangerous practice. Just look at several horror movies as examples!

Re: Would it be a good idea to bring back the country bear Jaboree...
There's a lame little Pooh Bear ride in Critter Country. They could tear that sad attraction out. That show building should be big enough for TWO CBJ theatersWhy, they could show the Origianl CBJ in one and the extra crispy Country Bear Vacation hoedown in the other. Both theaters do the Christmas show.
Actually I think a new theater in DCA right in or "Under" the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail would be perfect. Already bear themed and landscaped to match. Our transplanted bears should do rather nicely there.Last edited by Uzmati; 10-16-2006, 03:04 AM.IMO - YMMV - FYIGM

Re: Would it be a good idea to bring back the country bear Jamboree...
I would prefer to have Country Bear return to their older place, but if they could not be anywhere else. Then on the Island.
I would love to see a show on the Island. I think that an animatronic show would be great. I don't like taking a step backward. I would love a fresh new show, with animatronics. Make it animals that sing or dance or both.

Re: Would it be a good idea to bring back the country bear Jamboree...
I bet they could make a very nice dark ride somewhere in DCA after they scrap Pooh. The Bears need to come back. Maybe after a couple more years of empty lines, they'll figure it out. I mean...they brought back the Tomorrowland Terrace, right? To view more of my photos, please visit: William McIntosh PhotographyMac Daddy's Autumn, 2011 Photo Thread

To be sung to the tune of "I'm Just A Little Black Rain Cloud"
I'm just an empty ol dark....ride....
Using up space in crit-ter country,
I'm just an empty ol dark...ride,
Plopped down where Country Bears used to be.
Everyone knows that a dark...ride,
Must make some traffic, yes quite a bit.
I'm just hanging around,
Under the ground,
Built like a big piece of sh....candy corn.To view more of my photos, please visit: William McIntosh PhotographyMac Daddy's Autumn, 2011 Photo Thread

Re: Would it be a good idea to bring back the country bear Jamboree...
1) New improved CBJ in DCA's Brother Bear show area. Move BB stage north of Red Wood Creek Challenge Trail.
2) Replace Pooh ride with similar version of Tokyo's Hunny Hunt. Keep outdoor load area. Improve marque/entrance signage.
3) Put bouncy Pooh ride vehicle/system in Mickey's Toontown House. House itself and outside is queue. Building is ride building. Vehicles redesigned to reflect Goofy, Donald, and Mickey. Story is Pete tries to reinvent himself in Mickey's place in the classic short films. 2 optional music selections used throughout ride and partly for repeatability/randomness- "Wiliam Tell Overture" and "The Storm.
Chip n Dale Acorn Crawl redesign with Mickey's Trailer and used for Meet-n-Greet.

Put it back where it was. It was the biggest waste of money for Disney to do that to the bears.Friend walks into line of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh-"Come on, Let's go see Country Bear- .......Oh."-August 1st 2010
