I too thought it's been $11 for a while as well, and since I know this I just pay cash ... actually I have no credit cards so I pay with cash for all my transactions and don't have to worry about credit card debt.
I had no idea about the credit cards, but its not all together surprising.

I think that the $11 increase was reported here by darkbeer and others on labor day weekend. CC processing is just part of preventing people from going up and saying "I don't have cash -- what do you mean you don't take credit cards?"
I think it's about time that took credit cards. I use my cards for everything and pay them off every month. It's nice getting rewards especially when I don't pay any interest.
They should put a card scanner outside the window, and drivers/passengers should be able to dirve through slowly and put the card right in the slot and keep driving, the gate opening just in time.
Heck, I wonder why anyone carries/uses/accepts cash anymore.
I propose card-only lines and cash-only lines, the cash ones being doubly guarded with bullet-proof glass.

And how do you account for people who get mixed up in the lines or are confused because they're a tourist? I think they should accept both at every booth, but it's kinda common knowledge that you need cash to pay for parking at most places..

Not really. Most pay parking lots accept credit cards now.

That, and the fact that it's a lot harder to try and rob a booth when you know a majority of transactions are with plastic, not cash.
I'm sort of glad they are taking credit cards, but I was there on a slow day last week when it took 15 minutes to give them my money. I've NEVER had it take that long, it was quite irritating.
I wish they'd allow you to pay for parking in advance like the tickets, or something. Add it on to the price of one ticket, it would speed up the process.
I also don't like to use credit cards, and only have one to use for buying plane tickets or big items. But I do use my Debit Card constantly that just zaps the money directly from my checking account.
I would think this would be a nice service to offer as there are many people who use Debit Cards in place of Credit Cards or cash.
