I was looking at the official Disneyland web site and noticed under the entertainment section that a new *show* of some sort will be premiering soon.

It's called, Hip Hop: Xzibit

Does anyone know what this is about?

This is probably just the rapper Xzibit's show on Friday 10/20 at the House of Blues Anaheim (Downtown Disney)....

(Xzibit is probably best known as the host of MTV's "Pimp My Ride" show)

I'd really like to know just where on the website you found this listed. I searched high and low for a listing at the resort for Xzibit under "Entertainment" and didn't find anything.

The House of Blues appearance that Saddlesore Swanson mentioned seems to be what you saw, since I was able to confirm that Xzibit is currently on tour in support of his new album, Full Circle, which just dropped today.




Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, the Roots, Blackalicious, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae, Gang Starr and Floetry have all performed there as well. They have all kinds of terrific musical acts stopping by there, usually while on tour. Ziggy Marley's there tonight. Ozomatli, John Legend, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tyrese, and Wall of Voodoo in November. Queensryche, Amos Lee, Gin Blossoms, and Twisted Sister all show up there in December. Goo Goo Dolls on New Year's Eve. B.B. King in early January. The Reverend Horton Heat with Junior Brown and The Legendary Shack Shakers, and Jodeci appear in January as well. Styx in February. Don't worry, it's not inside Disneyland, just a show at the House of Blues at DTD. They have hip hop shows there all the time.

Hip hop's as legitimate an art form as any other form of musical expression, and like any other genre, there's genius stuff, good stuff, mediocre stuff, and junk. Don't be hatin'.

Not my favorite form of music, but without differences in what people like, this place would be boring. However I will say that I just love the creativeness that these performers come up with names. You have to admit that a name like Xzibit is quite neat. (Or am I just getting old. )
