I was at the park tonight for a reason I'd rather not go into right now, but anyway, I thought I'd try some of the new Halloween type food that's bouncing around the resort. So I go to The French Market to get some dessert (the Pumpkin Tart thing with Jack on it) and there are these two people in front of me. Their accent sounded Britishish, but it wasn't incredibly strong, so I'm not exactly sure where they're from. Anywho, they run back outside the Market to look at the menu as opposed to having to push past people to see the one inside. They come back and of course I let them back in front of me, common courtisy, and the guy (there was a guy and a lady) says thanks, I say no problem. So we get farther up in the line to the other menu and the guy passes it, but he kind of leans back to look at it a couple of times thus causing me to lean back so as not to bump him. He apologizes and I again say, "No problem, don't worry about it." So they load up on food and I get my dessert, then we get to the soda fountain and the guy goes past it only to realize that he needs a drink so he darts back behind me, gets the drink and goes back in front of me. I'm still in no hurry or in any way concerned about his somewhat frazzled nature, so he says excuse me and I'm sorry and I again say don't worry about it. It's fine. It's no Problem. Then he turns to me and says, "You only having sweets?" and I said, "Oh yea. Just wanted a little dessert." So the lady gets rung up and walks out, then they guy gets rung up and as he does he points to my dessert and hot chocolate and says, "And add that too." I'm like...what in the world? I said, "No really, that's okay. I've got it." Then he says, "No please. You put up with me in line this whole time, I want to. It's no problem." I thanked him profusely and then we bade each other goodnight. It was so cool. That's never happened to me before. I thought it was so cool that by just being kind and courtious you can be rewarded. It was a little magic moment in the park not provided by Disney that meant a lot to me. I'd like to see the Year of a Million Dreams top that!

That is super cool. So often we hear about grouchy or rude people. Nice to know good things happen, too.Looking for the truth about giraffes? http://www.menacinggiraffes.blogspot.com/

That is great. Thanks for sharing with us."I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. "Groucho Marx

Wow. Moments like that truely don't happen often enough! We go buzzing around our lives in our own little bubble, that we forget about everyone else! I'm sure this guy didn't think he did anything special by purchasing Jack's dessert...but look at the ripples his simple and generous actions have made! Jack's shared his story and now has all of us impressed by how good people can be. It reminds me of that movie "Pay it Forward." Keep the good things rolling!

You totally stole my thought! I think it's absolutely awesome that there are still people out there that are this considerate. I'm glad you were the recipient - and that you were patient with the guy in the first place!sigpic
