So, Beauty and the Beast was popular...Surprise! Surprise!...Now, on to part 2...what do you think of the CURRENT show at the Fantasyland Theater? Inquiring minds need to know!!!...0-4 Stars...and why?
Let's let everyone else have a say at this one since I myself am not a fan. I can ask the questions and give the answers. But, this one is for the other micechatters who have seen this a few times. I myself have only seen it once!
I watched half of it during a train stop at the Toontown station on the DLRR. My friends and I were so engrossed and were like "omgwtf!awesome" when the queen turned into the hag.
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!
I don't like the show. It's way too corny for my tastes, and I HATE how the forest critters look like something out of a Cirque show. I think I would have liked it much more if they had made it 15 min. longer(like Aladdin) and made the story more complete.
Also, what's up with the dwarves? This is supposed to be a theatrical adaptation of a CARTOON! The dwarves around the park and cute and loveable characters. The dwarves in the show are nothing more than gnomes. The music is silly, some of the effects are okay, and the witch is way over the top. Honestly(and I hate to say this), Mickey's Detective School was better...and I still maintain that Animazement was one of the best shows there was. Granted, I didn't see anything there before Beauty and the Beast. But, I loved the music from Animazement. That scene with Hercules, Pocahontas, and Quasimodo was true Disney magic when they hit that harmony at the climax of the song. Just my $.02. Hey, does anyone have audio or video of Animazement. I'd LOVE to see/hear it again!
I don't know, I'm kinda neutral on this one. It's just a little too cheesy (like said above), also with the animals ^
However, I did enjoy the queen.
Oh yeah. What also kinda bothered me was the fact that you could totally tell that it was pre-recorded. Perhaps that's just me (I do perform onstage frequently and I know how much of a pain audio is)...it just sounded too perfect. I like live entertainment, not lip sync.
I was wondering this too. Is it worth it to take almost 3 year olds??
I think your 3 year olds will love it.
I'm not a big fan, however. Here's why:
1. The bluebird looks like she's wearing a Wonderbra.
2. The Magic Mirror seems to hang in the forest throughout much of the show.
3. "Timeout" is not a term I believe Snow White would have been familiar with.
4. The Queen is more (unintentionally) funny than scary.
I'll still see the show if I don't have to wait too long, but it's not a "must do" on my list. Same with Aladdin.
(Ann Hamburger is the producer of both shows. She has her eye on Broadway, not Disneyland. But then that's to be expected since she's a product of the Pressler years.)
"George Bush... is only for now."

Just because it's gone doesn't mean I changed my mind! :cwink:

Thanks JCA...hopefully Matt will realize that she's made a mistake and put a better show in there. Still no video or audio for Animazement?...or Spirit of Pocahontas?
I watched it once and was not impressed. The animals were strange in the show and just awkwardly naively sexualized in a way that made me uncomfortable. And while the Mirror looks really neat, it was just strange to have it viewing the precedings throughout most of the play. Plus, the dwarves weirded me out.
Maybe it's because I watched it from far away on the train that I enjoyed it somewhat. lol.

Could be...cause 3 rows back was painful...and when I'm at Disneyland, I'm hard-pressed to find ANYTHING wrong with the world. But, the whole thing was just WRONG! Save yourself from watching the whole thing up close and go on IASW or something...there's 3 choices at that fork in the road...NO LEFT TURN!

I heard they had yummy food at the concession stand there, though!

Mmmm...all I got from my mom was a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar! I just need to know where the churros are and I'm all good...well, from what I hear I need to try the corn dogs on Main St. too!
