With the Update of JC and the upcoming update of SM I was thinking about all the other older attractions that they could update in a similar way. I love the fact that they are keeping the old ride but giving us something new. One ride that I think badly needs an update is the Matterhorn. It's a good rides but could be a fantastic one with a little work. What do the rest of you think about updating older attractions? (This thread is for people at work daydreaming about DL)

Pirates could use a little boost ala Haunted Mansion. I LOVE the new floating Madame Leota. Its amazing. The lightning-synched potraits are amazing, too. Now only if they could give Pirates some upgrades as good as these without sacrificing anything from the ride or adding anything from the films...

I think the PotC could always evolve into something. Maybe update the AAs (and with all this Jack Sparrow talk) and the battle scene with the ship & fort. Matterhorn could get some well needed love, too... The queue, I think, could use an update for faster lines/loading. I always wait FOREVER in the Matterhorn line.Well, light travels from the sun. Yeah, I hardly ever go on the Matterhorn anymore because the line is always too long, and I NEVER go on it during summer because the queues around the mountain aren't shaded and its really just hell when its too hot outside

They should have the line stay on ground level but interweave inside and out of the cave. They need to make more of an expedition themed ride. Inside they have all the boxes and skis and stuff but the queue has nothing to do with it. Matterhorn could be an awesome ride if they would just give it a little love.Comment

I think the biggest problem is the queue itself! I really wish they would take a page from the renovated POTC and rework that land and build like a 2 story ski lodge looking building, with history and memorabila of the Matterhorn, give it a back story...like fake news clippings and books about the Abominal Snowman...Originally posted by MasterGracey

Matterhorn needs some much needed attetion. I think the queue is a huge problem i like the idea of making it a two story ski lodge :bow:. I would also like to seem the keep one side of the track the same and maybe reroute the other side for a whole new experience. That way the keep the ride the same but have something new and exciting as well.Comment

Yeah the transitions on that side of the park are not really well designed. It's always jammed and people never know where the line ends. I think the idea of a transitionary land with the update of the Matterhorn to actually fit in with a 'theme' would DEFINITELY improve that side. One of the simple things that they can do for PotC is to put the box from the movie (or something that looks like it) that contained the Aztec gold into the treasure room along with everything else.Comment

Pirates would be really awesome to update too. I would love to see more pirates storming the city. It seems that after the first battle seen the city just gets over run. They should have more pirates fighting to get into the city.Comment

Pirates needs the PC version to disappear. It was a lot better when the pirates were chasing the girls
And a tunnel/lodge queue for the Matterhorn would be awesome.

They are still in the process of revamping them. They would have been all done on schedule but Eisner and Cynthia Harris took to long to leave

I've always thought that the Matterhorn ought to have some mist-filled ice caverns . . . like when you open the freezer door and the cool air mixes with the warm air, creating a cool mist.
They should also use clear "ice". The painted cement walls and isicles are okay, but not too convincing.Ask about my popular 2-for-1 sale!

Splash Mountain has always needed an Uncle Remus narration track to provide context to the storyline and warmth overall.
Empty PeopleMover track needs an upgrade to PeopleMover.
Observatron needs an upgrade to Rocket Jets.
Bill Hill and the Hillbillies need an upgrade to The Golden Horseshoe Revue.
Tarzan's Treehouse needs an upgrade to Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
