  • DCA vs. Six Flags Magic Mountain

Inspired by Dineyland vs DCA, only DCA and SFMM are so much closer in status.

    So which do you prefer?

Re: DCA vs. Six Flags Magic Mountain

It would have to come down to personal choice.

If you are into roller coasters, Magic Mountain is your place.

If, on the other hand, you are into food and wine pairings...

DCA hands down. Nicer, cleaner, better crowd usually. And as said, little themeing better than none.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. I've only been to DCA once, and I'd rather go there then SFMM. Mostly because the atmosphere is better for me at DCA, SFMM tends to have too many annoying teenagers for my taste.

DCA is closer, better theming and has more than just roller coasters. Don't get me wrong, I am a roller coaster nut, but I'd prefer a variety.

              MM.

Only because I really love coasters. The only coaster at DCA is Screamin'...Don't get me wrong, I love the Disney aspect of DCA (of course), but for me I'd rather go to MM if I want a full day of coaster riding.

As much as I love coasters, Id still have to go with DCA.

Re: DCA vs. Six Flags Magic Mountain

Magic Mountain, for a few reasons...

One, SHADE, SFMM has a lot of trees and shady places to sit.

Two, Bugs Bunny World has a lot more for kids to do than DCA

Three, Magic Mountain's selection of Roller Coasters and other rides.

I just wish it was a shorter drive, and not needing to drive thru heavy traffic most of the time....

Re: DCA vs. Six Flags Magic Mountain

DCA has safe environment, theming, good food, ride variety, quick load/unload, nice castmembers and a bright future.

SFMM has gangs, no theming, food poisioning, rollercoasters, snail load/unload, rude employees and a future as track housing.

                      Hands down, DCA.

Nevermind that my fiance wouldn't go on 80% of the rides at SFMM, I still think DCA is eons better for all of the reasons previously stated by other posters.

For rollercoasters, i enjoy Magic Mountain.

For the envirenment and theming, DCA for me.

Even at its worst, DCA is still a theme park and SFMM is a amusement park.
I much prefer a theme park over a amusement park.

Re: DCA vs. Six Flags Magic Mountain

This is a difficult comparison! It is like asking which is better a Toyota Scion or a Humvee!

First off the parks are completely different in size. MM is almost 4 times larger than DCA.

Secondly each park is differenly themed. MM is a compilation of numerous themed rides when DCA is made up of a few themed rides dealing with California.........I mean Pixar!

Finally all the rumors you hear about the scary crowds at MM is TRUE! Been there once and may never return due to the scariness of the crowds. It is like Halloween at MM everyday! DCA crowds seem to be more family oriented making it a much more peaceful place to be!

Theme parks are to have fun not to be looking over your shoulder think you may get jumped!

Relaxing day at the theme park: DCA! Insane and thrilling day at the theme park: MM!

                              No comparison. DCA.

I'm not a coaster enthusiast (although I like them) and like a good dark ride just as much.

(Although it's not DL) DCA still has some theming, last I checked MM doesn't really
                              have any cohesive theming anymore.

It also has unique attractions/shows that MM does not have (Soar'n, Animation building, ToT, Monsters Inc, etc.) Many which the whole family can do together.
