  • Downtown Disney Vault 28

    Hey All,
Has anyone had the privilege to go into the new Disney Valut 28 store in Downtown Disney? What kind of things do they have in there for sale? I will be there from the 13-19 and am a huge vintage Disney fan and am just wondering what to expect. Any help would be met with a dole whip and or churro!

Basically, if you're looking for vintage Disney stuff, you'll be sorely disappointed.

No...they sell garbage. $200 garbage. I'm not being sarcastic either.

Um. So I went last weekend. And picked up a cute shirt....
                For $28!!!
Yes! The pricetag read $28! I'm wondering if they mislabeled it or something! All I know is I paid and got the heck out of there. Didn't want them to realize they should have charged me $80.

I didn't think it was garbage at all, I thought the place looked great and the clothes were cute. Price is a whole separate Oprah, though.

                    Re: Downtown Disney Vault 28

Here's my little story about that place,
We where standing in line to get ice cream DL and my wife saw this girl walk buy with this "cute" Tink shirt on, is was obviously not your average tink shirt sold in the main street stores, she went absolutly nuts for it and asked where I thought she would have gotten it. I said prolly the Vault....
So we headed over there (had not checked it out before) walked in and started looking around for this "shirt"
I started to notice they had some cool trendy stuff in there so I looked a little closer....to my surprise shirts ranged in price from $50-80.00!
                    ....T-SHIRTS!
                    Jeans where anyplace from $140-250
                    Rings....$100-500
beltbuckles....you DON'T even want to know
The FUNNIEST part is that there are HART AND HUNTINGTON shirts in there, you know who they are right?
They are a tattoo place in Vegas in the Palms Casino...they have a show on the Bravo channel....my question was WHY would they sell shirts from a tattoo company in there..a disney store?
...and yes, I myself have a couple tats....but even I could not figure that one out.
We never found the shirt, the sale people are not very helpful. Kinda spacey and arrogant. They try to be friendly cause they "have to" but they have no idea what is going on or what they are doing standing in this store. Also they carry limited sizes, and their stuff runs SMALL. My wife and I are only 27 and she's only 115lbs...so she would be fine wearing that stuff. In other words it's a NICHE group that they are targeting...if you know what I mean.
                    We walked out....laughing
The only reason I can see buying something from there is that its prolly "limited edition"....you may never see anyone else wearing what you bought since it's all limited quantities....if that's your thing good luck and watch where you sit and brush up against....you would not want to ruin your $70 t-shirt with a dole whip or pizza sauce!

It's way too expensive and it's mostly geared for girls and women who are slim and petite only! I'll be surprised if the store last for very long under the current conditions.

^^^I have said this..I went in there the day it opened. There were like 7 workers in there and made the big mistake of bringing a stroller in there. I was followed around like a criminal. Of course, I'm not saying that it might have been the intimidation of the stroller which I'm sure the staff might have thought as a break and crash tool.

So, I went in there a couple days later minus a stroller and still got treated like a criminal with TWO staff following me around. I said screw this..I don't need to be monitored while I check price tags...yeah staff of Vault...I check the price tags before I spend my hard earned money!

So yeah, I give this place two thumbs down and agree with the statement that staff are rude and arrogant.

I've been in there 5 times now. Each time was approached in a friendly, welcoming manner. Found the staff to be somewhat knowledgable about the merchandise, the designers and their lines. Not unlike "comparable" retail outlets in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Santa Monica.

They're doing alot of business with their expected markets, female adults - across the board - local, tourists and even freer-spending disposable income-wielding convention/business guests.
