  • When will the Year of A Million whatever be over?

How long are they going to try and string this thing along? It's already being dragged through the mud. It confuses customers and shoves DREAMS down our throats. Will they be getting rid of it by January?

Um, no. I believe, based on the name, that it might be a "year."

It just started at the end of the 50th celebration. So we'll have it for at least a year.

Except by Disney's calendar a year is exactly 18 months give or take a month!

Yes, I wasn't quite sure about that part. I just knew that anything they started in the last couple of months won't be over by January.

Hmmm.. I thought it was 15 months, so that it should be over by Dec. 2007- which would put the next promotion (if there is one) to start on a calendar year and thus be not quite so confusing to the average tourist.

One could only hope it'd be ending soon.

I wouldn't mind if the whole thing just died a quiet death and slowly slipped to Yesterland... But good luck getting Rasulo to suck up his pride that much.

Or, they could just choose to let people come to the park on their own, and not for any half-baked "promotion."

                Nah. Never happen.

gee, I am not sure why you are all up in arms about it. I think its cool to give hats, and such away. I liked the hats, and the fast passes are cool to. so whats the big deal about it, its something new.

The gimmes are nice, but I'd just like a little time off without this year's slogan hitting me at every turn.

It just feels a little forced, like it's something more for the marketing folks than for the guests coming through the gate.

Honestly, I don't think that the average tourist understands what the promotion is all about. Granted, I don't watch a ton of tv, but if I hadn't known about it through MiceChat, I would have been seriously confused about what the "Year of A Million Dreams" was.

All I've seen so far is a few banners, a new slogan, and some lackluster merchandise.

A year is too long for this "Year" IMHO.

The new theme is entirely guest-oriented. The whole purpose of the new theme is to recommit the resort to making magical moments EVERY day. If you're looking for a more substantial explanation of the campaign, just ask one of your friendly neighborhood CMs. Besides, if I was a guest, I would be more excited about this campaign... They're going to do some really amazing things this year.

It's the "Year of a Million Dreams"...but they only expect to fulfill a couple of dozen of them.

                              Budget cuts, don't 'ya know.
