Is it cheaper to go through the DL website to get tickets/hotel/airfare or through a travel agent? Last time we used a travel agent and were dented (income wise) pretty badly.

Where are you coming from?Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

the site doesn't hook you up with the cheapest airfare, but most travel agents also tack an extra cost onto your fares so they actually, you know, make a profit, too. The cheapest way to go (outside of looking for special deals) is to book a ticket and hotel package at disneyland.com (the tickets are definitely cheaper--hotel rates are just the normal, undiscounted rates that you would get from the hotel). The cheapest airfares are found online, usually. Just go to the airline's website. Of course, which airline you choose depends on the airport you wish to fly out of.-Kyle, Member of the DCA Lovers Alliance

Right now they're running an online special for DL Hoppers $40 off 5-day, $30 off 4-day. Get your tickets there vs. at the ticket booth.
For hotel, stay across Harbor. Hotels are nice, just as close, and half the price.
For air, put a watch on Travelocity or other similar site. They'll let you know when there is a special rate. Be prepared to be a little flexible (like flying Monday vs. Saturday) and you can save a bundle.

the prearrival discounts for TICKETS on disneyland.com are usually pretty darn good. The ever popular "5 for 3" ticket is only offered this way and is pretty much the cheapest way to visit the parks for 5 days in a 2 week period.-"We can see a new horizon...built on all that we have done..and our dreams begin another thousand circles 'round the sun!"

They stopped these tickets in Jan. Too bad, it was a great deal!
I booked my own trip, got a discount at the Howard Johnson from Mousesavers.com
Bought my tickets on EBay. Persons trip was cancled, I saved over 100.00 on the tickets. Even included the early morning entry and the ESPNZone $10.00 cards. (We bought our tickets on EBay last year too)
I also got an Orlando Magic card and saved on my rental car even though Im going to DLR and not WDW.
By booking everything seperate and on my own I saved almost 500.00. Im sure that will spent on food at the park though.
Good Luck! and have a GREAT trip!

Fly Southwest into John Wayne Airport
Stay at the Tropicana, Park Place, Best Western Mini Suites, or Carousel Inn on Harbor Blvd across the street from the Entrance
By Tickets for you length of stay online or at Triple A (AAA) on the last day of your trip after you have used all the perks of the tickets...turn them into AP's and come back in 6 monthes and do it again!
Want a better pool or hotel, then stay at the Marriott or Hilton next to the convention Center....they have nice pool areas and generally have rooms right around $100.00 a night...plus are still pretty close
Also check Mousesavers.comWhen it's time to go home and visit...It's time to go to Disneyland!!!

http://www.mousesavers.com/ Their information and advice is great.
I no longer use travel agents just because they must put their fee on top of the ticket price.
Also as other have said.... buy your park ticket BEFORE you come here. It will save over an hour in line.
