  • Possible first look at new Matterhorn Bobsleds?

    I received notice that the new Matterhorn bobsleds were being tested today and although I did not see them in action, I tried to get footage of the loading zone from the top of 'Alice In Wonderland'. I can't really tell if they've changed or not, but I did hear that others were able to capture pictures of them in action, so if you have some to share, please add them! The mystery is too much to bear!

    Do these bobsleds look new?

    The video looks like the usual bobsleds. Didn't think the new ones were gonna arrive this soon. I thought it would be late 2007-early 2008 for the change.

      I think the new bobs arrive next year. These appear to be the same.

            Yup they do appear to be the same ol' bobsleds. I guess the big news is that they are testing.

              I agree as well, look like the same old bobsleds.

                Were they running this sled? I only ask because it wasn't there on Tuesday.

                And they look the same to me, maybe a little repainted.

                  Re: Possible first look at new Matterhorn Bobsleds?

                  From a recent Al Lutz update;

                  "It's going to be next winter's Matterhorn refurbishment that will be of interest to Disneyland fans, as the classic inline bobsled seating is planned to be replaced with individual seat compartments with a lap bar instead of a rather useless seatbelt. And no, they won't add Fastpass and they won't reroute the line away from the sides of the mountain anytime soon either."

                  So it appears the new Bobsleds will show up in the winter or spring of 2008.

                        Yes, they have been testing on the Matterhorn. On Wednesday they had one empty bobsled going and the another full of what looked like the maintanence people and a coupld Matterhorn cast members. With still about another month to go in the rehab, maybe they are ahead of schedule?

                          I just looked at my old photos, I don't remember that archway that's promently in those shots above. Is that new? or am I just going mental?
