I find this a very sad post. I grew up at DL and cannot imagine it not being there. However, I also love WDW. It just is different. It has a lot more to present than Disneyland, but Disneyland has some unique things that WDW does not have.

#1 Walt was there. He has his own apartement there. His spirit lives there. You can feel it.

#2 DL being in a large city recruits many college age students to be CMs. WDW has many retired folks who do many of the jobs the younger CMs do at DL. It changes the atmosphere of the park.

#3 The weather is better in southern Cal. Florida is humid much of the summer. It rains during the summer there. Hurricanes hit Florida. I have had to wear a poncho at WDW during their brief rainstorms, and it does detract from the magic. Southern Cal has brief times of heat, but nothing compared to humid Florida.

I suppose that they could always build the same attractions at WDW but it will always lack the things above.

I say if that ever happens, we all join together to just take over the park and run it ad-hoc. We can then add free roamming ghost robots to the haunted mansion controlled by people on the net. Of course, then someone would take over Mr. Lincoln and turn it into a virtual reality experience. Then one of us gets shot and the whole thing goes down the drain from there.

You know, I should be slapped around for even thinking up such a bad thing. Sorry to worry anyone. (slap slap slap)

The answer to this scenario, no matter how unlikely, is pretty simple.

I wouldn't go to WDW. I would go to TDL instead.

well i would be out of work for sure! while i would probably try to make it to wdw, dlp, & tdl every fews years (not together but rotational) it still wouldnt be the same. there's something about the magic of disneyland that cant be replicated anywhere...besides, its the only park that walt walked in and without him there is no disney!

YOU SCARED ME! I really hope this would never happen, but if it did it would be such a betrayl to all that is Disney that I would no longer have the desire to go to any of their parks.

<gasp!> Let's not discuss such things. I have no clue what I would do. Go into a state of shock and panic probably! There would go my dream job.

I would likely go to WDW once every 5 years. Instead of DLR once a year.

If there was somehow a way that it was closed, not to reopen.... I'd be pissed and only go to TDL because Disney makes the least money from it

Even if the Earth itself swallowed up Disneyland and the Walt Disney Company decided to abandon it I believe that with all of those Hotels and businesses in the area that rely on Disneyland that it would even then be rebuilt..............but if I am wrong and somehow it did close without any possible resurection then yes, I would visit WDW more often then I do now but certainly not as much as I visit DL.

I'd be so upset I wouldn't be a fan anymore. You can't close the original that started it all!

If it was to close, I would give over everything! But I don't think it will... As long as theres guests, and as long as they pay money, it's open!

I'm with you. Anything to keep it open is what I will do.

Even if the Disney Company pulled the plug on DL, someone else would probably scoop it up and try to maintain the feel of the park. I bet it would even happen without the guests really knowing it ever happened. There would be some complications getting the rights to use the characters in the park, but I think some savvy businessperson would try to keep it the same. With luck, it might even be the Oriental Land Company and we may actually see some new E tickets in DL...
