  • Can anyone identify this ride for me?

My parents say that when they went to Disneyland in 1992, there was a magnet ride in Tomorrowland. I think they said it was near Space Mountain, but I'm not exactly sure. They forgot the name so I have no idea what this attraction is about.

    Can anyone help me?

maybe it's the people mover? cuz one of the scenes, the TRON scene, isn't there like a "magnetic field" that the rider "almost" gets attached to? or I might be completely wrong...that's the only thing I can think of...

I don't think so. My dad is a fan of the People Mover. So I don't think he'd get that confused with this ride.

I just asked my dad and he said that is was something like ride at Legoland where you pedal. Does any of the rides in 1992 fit the description?

I don't know if he is confused with another theme park though.

I'm sure your father is a fine man but you may want to ask him about the 60's. If he can't remember, then you have the answer to your original question.

I know of no magnet ride or pedal ride ever in Disneyland.

There were pedal boats in the marina of the Disneyland Hotel at one time.

And the Peoplemover in Florida's Magic Kingdom is a magnetic linear-induction kinda thing that propels it.

But at Disneyland in California...nothing comes to mind that would fit the bill.

I never went on it, but I'm going to have to say Rocket Rods?

The only ride that comes to mind isn't at Disneyland so I'm sure it's not what you're talking about. However, the ride that I immediately thought about is Superman at SFMM. That's a pretty intense magnetic-like ride.

yaaaa. Wickedbusa, the rocket rods werent introduced until i think 2000. But it would be easy for someone to get that confused for a magnet type ride.

What about Adventure through Inner Space?

                          "MAGNIFICATION!!"

It was gone by '92, but that's the only thing I can think of that sounds similar and was in Tomorrowland.

If I'm not mistaken, that ride was gone WELL before 1992.

And on ATIS you rode through on the moving "seats" on a track, identical to the "doombuggies" concept used in the Haunted Mansion. I think they called them "atom-mobiles".
