I founbd a link to the web site for Suburban Legends. Hope it helps.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

They are a great punk type band. They started playing DTD then were the main band for DCA for the X-games summer of 2003. They play covers of Disney songs in a punk style. It may sound odd but they are lots of fun to see.

I was actually their host for when they played at DCA for the summer XGames. They play some great music and they are lots of fun to hang out with. I took breaks with them and I just had to keep people away from them when they were playing their songs on this moving stage we had for them. It was fun. They are young guys and used to play at DTD and at Club Buzz all the time.

clarification - They are NOT a punk band. The way i can best describe them would be to say Dance moves of a boy band music of a uppity ska band.

think reel big fish only not so dark on the lyrical side of things.

I would describe SL as a new-style ska band. THere are punk influences but their music is very much ska - much more so that No Doubt who started as a Ska band.

The band is a lot of fun. THey frequently played outside Rainforest Cafe in DTD - where Altrus play a lot now.

So, are they inside one of the parks this weekend or in DTD?

Ah, they're back in the park. They often play DTD, outside of Rainforest, during the summer months.

They are indeed ska, part of what's often called the third wave (brought to light by the rise of pseudo-ska No Doubt, but anchored by bands like the Aquabats and Reel Big Fish). The genre has broadened quite a bit from its pre-reggae origins and includes more swing influenced bands like Cherry Poppin Daddies and more punk-influenced bands like Rancid (formerly Operation Ivy). But SL's got a pretty pure two-tone sound (born during the second wave in Britain) going. They're talented and put on a great, energetic show. But damned if that weird line dance that "the kids" are doing at ska shows these days doesn't creep me out (much like me being the one of the oldest attendees at any ska show these days must creep them out).

I'm dying here. If YOU are one of the oldest attendees at "any ska show" then what must NotAfraid and I be?

'cause I'm sure you go all the time.

Average age at the shows I've been to recently (not counting public shows like SL at DTD) is about 16.

I didn't even remember that there was a 16. But now that you bring it up . . .

HEY! Speak for yourself, old man!

I may be old(er), but I'm still hip. (And I'm not talking about replacement surgery!)

At least I remember - and was very active - in the 2nd wave of Ska. I saw Madness, The Specials, Selector, The Bodysnatchers, Bad Manners, and The English Beat (along with a few others) all live in clubs in LA in the early 80's.

Fortunately, I am TOO young (one of the few things) for the First Wave.
