  • The Free DVD Guide to Disneyland's 50th Celebration

Well, I got my DVD in the mail today. Here's what it looks like:

The actual DVD is gold, very cute detailing. When you play it, the first thing you see is the Happiest Celebration on Earth promotional video that they have been playing consistently in their advertising. This is the complete version, the one we say on May 5th during the actual Celebration kick-off ceremony. It then goes into some explanation about the new shows and rides being added to the park. I have to say, I was disappointed with it though. It wasn't very well marketed as far as advertising. If I were to inspire guests to come and visit the park during this celebration, I would put more knowledge out there about how much work it took to get the park ready. They should have made mention of the restoration process the park has undergone and they didn't say anything about the new additions/changes to the existing rides. It felt bland and like an extended commercial for the same one we have already seen. Anyone else get one and have an opinion?

On the back cover of the booklet, it is gold. It says "Tink, I want you to be a good hostess. Show them everything. Especially the new places." - Walt Disney

    Very cute!

This video was a big disappointment to a lot of people, me included.

It was discussed in the thread

        Disneyland Vacation Planning Video

It seemed more like an 8 minute comercial. It would have been nice to see more of the park and have it be longer. But it was free so I guess I shouldnt have expected too much.

(do you think the Finding Nemo Subs line will be under 3 hours by then?)
