Does anyone know? They didn't update the seatbelts, so what did they do?

What she said ^, other than that not a thing is different. Normal yearly refurb.

You can see in some recent photos of the track around the loading station are new. That's what they usually do in these annual refurbishments for Matterhorn considering its age: painting, new tracks, etc. The usual. Couple major changes from years ago were the crystal and Snowman additions. Filling in the holes from Skyway. And wooden handrails, emergency exit pathways, and airgates. New restraints similar to WDW's Space Mountain rumored for next year now.

Refurb doesn't always mean change. Everything needs its TLC. The Matterhorn needs it even more so due to its age being the first of its kind.

U can totally tell the track was changed. It was so much more smoother. Lots of stuff was painted in the queue. A control board was added. It also looked like more emergency exits were added as well. And Harold is even more pissed off than ever! To the people who ride it frequently, the changes are obvious. ***Check out my trip report from yesterday to see the changes.***

              Did they add dispatch enable?

I thought I saw a pict with that in it.

They had auto dispatch before... This would drasticly change the way they have to dispatch sleds because now a CM would have to dispatch a sled instead of letting the computer do it automaticly.

(I han't been on the new mountain yet)

The seat belts are a very bright orange now.

What I could tell is mostly in the electrics. They replaced the dispatch system trackside(right before you go through the tunnel), they enhanced the snow effect while going up the chain lift(a lot more clear and noticeable) and the first AA of Harold the Yeti may have gotten a new face(it definetly looks different than the second one farther in the ride) and some better lighting around the yetis.

Late add: they also repainted the queue and the floor is now a peach(I think) instead of the dark green.

This isn't the best pic in the world but you get the idea. And the CM has to send each sled instead of the computer doing it. Not quite sure why they added that.

yes! There it is! (That is a HUGH difference with this ride!)

I also think they added another console to unload... which would mean the ride got four new consoles, two on A side and two on B side. That is probably the biggest reason the ride was down for so long. Big change in the way the ride operates from the CM point of view. I wonder how the CM's like it? (My Ex-g/f is a CM for Matterhorn, I will email her and ask their opinion of the changes)

                          To me, this looked new:

Looks like part of the cave is missing.

Bushes missing? maybe I don't remember this:

                          Track looks new:

                          The paint was very noticable:

And then the console. That's the changes I noticed, but some may not have been changes at all.

Also, the "Remain Seated Please" area recieved new speakers, and the soundtrack got a cleanup.
Jack Wagner's voice now resonates deeply out at the sleds, instead of through a funky horn speaker (which is still there, but deactivated)
