So this is what's behind the snowglobe and I don't get it. It looks like it's an air conditioning unit, and it's running constantly. The snowman still doesn't do anything and I'm pretty sure it's not made out of real snow, so I wonder why they're doing this. The back of the snowglobe is open as well and there's no heat being created inside so I don't see why it would fog up either if that's what they might be preventing.

Re: That Mysterious Snowglobe
Is it one of those inflateable snowglobes? I never got close enough to see it a week ago. If so it might just need some extra UMPH to get it inflated. Or the fan they had might not have been strong enough to keep it up???
If they're trying to keep it from fogging up with an a/c its probably not gonna work. The air inside is probably all moist from the rains we had and water got inside. Hard to get it free of moisture without eliminating the moist air trapped inside.
All speculations on my part.

Re: That Mysterious Snowglobe
It's not an inflatable snowman. The KTLA people did a little thing taking pictures inside there but that wouldn't warrant nonstop air conditioning. Like I said there's a big hole in the back and it shouldn't be that warm inside.

Re: That Mysterious Snowglobe
see the point of this is though the ac is on all of the time not just when people are in it! I am 100% sure people dont go in it and stay in it for anylong periods of time at all.The earth is round.... or so i've found.

Re: That Mysterious Snowglobe
I believe the AC unit is there to keep it from fogging up. The thing gets thrown into the elements. Some days it's hot, then turns quickly to chill. Anything that's left out will form its own little ecosystem with condensation and precipitation... It's keeping that from happening.

Re: That Mysterious Snowglobe
They recently tried to cover up to the back of the snowglobe, but when they did, they put live plants on the stairs that are inside of the snowglobe. The plants, mixed with quick changes in temperature at night are what is probably causing the fogging up of the snowglobe.
But I'm no chemist, so I could be wrong...

Re: That Mysterious Snowglobe
A/C units de-humidify as they cool. And if they have strip heaters in them they can actually heat the air as they de-hunidify as well.
If this thing is ducted into the snowglobe, then I'm sure it's intended to keep the snowglobe from fogging up when the weather cools at night.
And yes, as a matter-of-fact I am an air conditioning contractor...Charlie
