  • July 17th Blocked out for Deluxe passports

I guess Disney doesn't want to share the celebration for AP's. BLocked out on the 17th for the anniversary. Oh well at least I'll miss the crowds...

You can always pay the extra $30 bucks and get in!

I had a premium AP for 5 years but went Deluxe this past one. I decided a while back to re-up to a Premium in June; its a lot of money, but for me its worth it. But if I wasn't you can bet I'd cough up the extra $30 for the 17th.

I was already planning on avoiding Disneyland like the plague that day. Thanks for yet another reason!

            Ditto that.

I want no part of July 17th.

I feel that Deluxe should be blocked out on that day, its already going to be nuts enough. I dont feel that they should complain about it though, they could have always got the better pass and not have block out days.

It's not like they're prohibiting you from going. People with deluxe APs know there are blockout days and that if they want to go on those days, they need to buy the blockout pass. Disney isn't excluding APs - premium APs get entry that day.

well im thinking they will reach capacity.. if its a clear day.. I htoguth they woudl reach capacity on /5/5 but it was a rainy looking day so that stopped alot of people.. They didnt block out the 5th sicne it was in the middle of the week.. july 17th s a weekend. so of course its blocked out.. its not like they did it purposely because of the 50th.. deluxe are usually blocked every weekend for summer time..

Deluxe are only blocked on Saturdays and Holidays through the summer. An exception this year is the 17th. I have a Premium, but my husband and daughter both have Deluxe, so we kinda know.

They dont need deluxe people in the park when the park is going to be filled to capacity. They will make way more money this way and it is the right decision. Just bite the bullet and pay the 30 bucks.

Ehh I was kinda mad to hear that but I guess I didn't really want to deal with the crowds anyway. I might end up paying 30 bucks, I don't know it depends. Is it possible to buy a ticket days in advance?

AP Blockout passes MUST be bought on the day of use... Sorry....

And FYI, Disney let everyone know last July that the 17th was going to be blocked out for Deluxe, SoCal and SoCal Select folks....

Well I'm a little screwed then, I remember what the Esplanade looked like on the 5th so I doubt I'll be able to get a ticket.

Well, if you're really intent on going that day, you could buy a regular ticket in advance and use it on the 17th, but the blockout day ticket can only be purchased that day as Darkbeer said.
