  • DCA - New Years Eve Fireworks

So judging by DarkBeer's photos from today they are setting up the barges in the Lagoon at DCA.

Last year they did fireworks at DCA, was anyone there to see it? Were they any good? Do you think they'll do something different this year?

Maybe someone will actually take a video for us here at Micechat?....

There will be a big group of us there, so I'm sure we'll get some shots or a video.

I was at the Cove Bar for NYE in 2005, and took a lot of photos...

They use low level fireworks, so nothing like what you get at Disneyland

Do they pump the fireworks music into DCA I'd hope? And is the low level stuff in the lake timed with the rest of the fireworks?

The Disneyland Fireworks music is not heard in DCA, the DCA fireworks are about half as long, and they have their own sound track.

So is Disneyland going to be at full capacity for New Years? Is there any hope of trying to get into Disneyland in the evening for New Years?

Re: DCA - New Years Eve Fireworks

The Midnight Fantasy In The Sky....is just the Fourth of July Fireworks with Stars and Stripes music.

                    It's not as high-tech as Remember. I don't even think it's as high-tech as this year's Believe.

However, the highlight of the whole the Midnight show is that the characters come out on the ledge of the Castle.

Re: DCA - New Years Eve Fireworks

I did see the DCA fireworks last year and thought they were pretty cool. It's not Disneyland, but they were good for what they have to work with there. Once the DCA fireworks were over, then you could continue watching the Disneyland fireworks. It rained last New Year's Eve, although it did stop before 11 or so, I believe. This year should be much better weather, so it will be busier. Not to mention the radio stations have been giving away tickets like crazy all this month to DCA on New Year's Eve.

You need special tickets to get into the New Years Eve fireworks? I thought you could get in with just regular tickets

By "Giving Tickets Away" he means park admission tickets. No better way to fill up DCA, then by giving it away!

I was thinking these little New Years Fireworks at DCA (any 4th of July Fireworks??) I hope they're testing and trying out new things in a sort of preparation for their bigger nightly lagoon show. Like how Disney short animated films were sort of testing grounds for the bigger feature animated film canons... just a thought.
