  • Disneyland old concepts

Concepts from Disneyland always have intrigued me, i always go to disneyland and when i do i always have to go inside the art gallery above pirates of the Caribbean, to me looking at all the pictures of rides that were to be, or are now were awesome. Its like looking into the ride itself to me atleast. If anyone could post where i could find some pictures of concepts that would be awesome or if anyone has any audio/video clips of walt that would be rad too. Also walkthroughs of rides, audio or video, and interviews of imagineers, if anyone could post any that would be sweet.
    Thanks so much

awesome, i found some on youtube, and i have some imagineer podcasts but its just not that good, i mean i like the interviews with an imagineer but i cant find that many and if i do theres alot of crud in the beginning i dont want to hear! Also i love walts walk through of pirates and i would like more, and that original video where he talks about his kids going to the merry go round on saturdays is awesome.
So anymore of anything and concepts i would love too, thanks so much!

I know when my father headed up the DL Art Dept, he designed some cool things (Besides Cruella) He designed the entire look for the McDonald Douglas Pavillion in TL and that is what got him the job of Lead Technical Illustrator for the Apollo Project for McDonald Douglas. He was telling me that he designed a dome over Tomorrowland that would have scenes from space projected on the ceiling and Tomorrowland would of looked like you were aboard a Space Station. They never went for that idea but from what I heard was that a former Imagineer that was let go during the Eisner Reign of Terror, saw my dad's designs and took them with him when he was picked up by Steve Wynn for the revitalization of Las Vegas. My father's idea for Tomorrowland became the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Vegas.

Yeah my dad was cool. He passed away about 8 years ago but he told me some real cool stories about the park.

im sorry to hear about that, yeah my dad passed away 2 years ago as well, he was no imagineer or mcdonald douglas though. But my dad is the reason i wanted to be an imagineer. Your dad was some guy i bet! and probably your hero, and many others. thanks for sharing the story.
                              Thanks
