  • Mickey ear hats...random questions

Does anyone know the "rules" for names that are allowed on Mickey ears? I know that there are some things just not allowed, but what's the criteria?

Also, if you win Dream ears, can you take them to Mad Hatter and have your name put on them?

I heard at one point nicknames weren't allowed, but I think that rule is gone.

When I tried to get my nickname onto my Peter Pan ears they wouldn't allow me and that was a year ago. My nickname is Hobbit.

I think its the same rules as the name badges. Real names only or anything that's not disney related... so any hopes of putting "if you can read this your standing way to *********g close to me" has crashed and burned...

It all depends on the person you get, when the "Hatmosphere" was there in tomorrowland, they would put almost anything on the hat depending on who was working it...The older CM's we're way too traditional, but there was always atleast a few points in the day some teenager(s) CM's working it and they could care less, as long as there are no curse words they would do it :P

They wouldn't let me use Gilligan either. I had a deal made with Bob Denver to swap a Gilligan's hat for a set of Mickey ears with the name Gilligan on them.

Dream Ears cannot be embroidered on. What can you put on your ears? Your first name. It's as simple as that. Titles can be added, but they must be extrememly common such as Mr. or Ms. or Dr. Also familial names are okay such as Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Nanny, Poppy, and the like. Derivatives are also okay such as William can be Bill, Billy, or Willie. That is it, if you have problem with these restrictions, please make a complaint to City Hall so that hopefully one day these silly restrictions will be somewhat more manageable and the CMs hands can be untied.

Or you can buy one, leave it blank and take it to your local embroidery shop and pay them a few bucks to put whatever you want on it. They even do hats, shirts and other stuff at the county fairs.

It's not rocket science... Anyone with a machine or the ability to do it by hand can do it.

                Just a thought...
