  • Disneyland needs an Expedition Everest!

I just got done watching the video for that ride, and MAN it looks awesome. I think It'd be so fun, and for once something not totally movie based (nothing wrong with that, but originality is also good). It could be done, just add another area (get rid of toon town?). Maybe they could theme Toon Town like a maintain area, you know, snowy and cold. Have a replica of the Coca Cola booth in disneyworld where they give free soda samples (and it snows!). What do you think?

We already have one, it's called Matterhorn.

The Matterhorn ride, though classic, and I really dig it, is weak, weak, weak compared to the Everest ride. Everest is one of the coolest rides I've ever experienced.

But wouldn't it be a little odd to have both the Matterhorn and EE?

DCA could use another mountain. Theme it to the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley and base it on the Sport Goofy cartoon The Art of Skiing. Could make a neat stand up coaster!

I don't think there's room, for one. And two snow-covered mountains would look sort of silly.

I know matterhorn is similar...But Everest looks so freakin' awesome. Nothing can replace matterhorn of course, but everest would still be awesome.

And a giant sunwheel doesn't look silly?

It doesn't fit DCA, and there's already one of those snowy things in Disneyland.

I completely agree with you. If Disney wants to create another mountain it has to be unique from the other mountains they currently have.

To give you an idea of the size of EE, if it were to be put into Disneyland, you would have to remove the entire Autopia and Submarine Voyage, all of the monorail track and Peoplemover/Rocket Rod track in that area, and seriously re-route the railroad. And you would have a mountain towering an additional 90 feet above the Matterhorn. For Toontown, it would take up WAY too much current backstage space.

In DCA, it would be all of Grizzly River Run.

Too big and too similar to the Matterhorn. Snowy mountain, coaster throughout the mountain, yeti/harold. I would much prefer a new mountain, like the Gyser Mountain or Fire Mountain.
Women, they make the highs higher and the lows more frequent.

The idea of putting yet another Mountain on the property would just be overkill. Especially when 2 of them have Yeti's in it. BAD IDEA:rant:

Especially since everest is really just another roller coaster, inside a mountain, thats not themed inside very well... The Materhorn from disneyland inspired everest, why would we need one?
