  • Gingerbread Castle

Now, the artistic appeal of MiceChat is really...scarce. It sucks, sometimes. If a castle goes missing on a napkin, everyone freaks out. If Disney decides to put a monochromatic castle on the Disneyland shopping bags, a riot starts here.

But, I bought a Christmas slowglobe for my mom for Christmas and it has Sleeping Beauty Castle as a gingerbread house. ANd that got me thinking, it would be really cool if Disney would transform our castle into a gingerbread house just for the Holidays next year. What does everyone else think?

I prefer an iced castle like they're planning for next year.

As long as it isn't as hideous as the WDW Cinderella Birthday Cake Castle...

The birthday cake castle at WDW was truly hideous - - this would likely be too. Give temporary Christmas overlays a rest, Disney - - and use funds to restore something for the longterm, like Tomorrowland.

As long as the gingerbread looks real. If it is more beige than brown people are going to think the Irvine Company is re-developing the place!

I just thought of something that would be cool. Not just make a gingerbread castle, but have a gingerbread smell coming from it.

Oh, I know the snowglobe you're talking about, It really is cute.
They also had an ornament of the "gingerbread castle", too.
(I picked up one of those on Dec. 2)

Had the same thought about transforming the castle into a
gingerbread version for the holidays, and think it would look
nicer than how they transformed WDW's Castle for their 25th.
But when Al mentioned in his recent update, that an "icicle version"
of the DL Castle may take place next year, that would look
                nicer in my opinion.

If they did go with a gingerbread version, which would be fun to
see, they would certainly have to paint most of the castle, in
addition to other decorations to make it look that way. And then
after Christmas, they would need to repaint the castle back to
it's normal colors. That may be a little too much work for set up
and take down. Perhaps, they could just do special light projections
on the castle at night, like they do for the front of Small World.
                THAT would be neat!

Im with the rest of you...leave the castle the way it is. It is finally getting back to normal from the 50th and Christmas. I like our castle...yet small...but it's home.

ORWEN: Oh, no! Not gingerbread!! Everytime us Cauldron girls hear that term, we break out into cold sweats!

ORDDU: That's because of a dear friend of ours who, many years ago, used to live in a delightful Gingerbread house--only to be murdered by two terrible little children--despite the fact that she had generously allowed them to eat her out of house and home!

ORGOCH: Yep, they threw the poor ol' soul inta her own oven and roasted her up like she was s'posed ta be a turkey er a ham! Ungrateful brats, they was!

ORWEN: So, no, I don't think it would a good idea at all to try turning Sleeping Beauty's Caste into a gingerbread monstrosity. Besides, how can you improve on perfection? The castle at Disneyland looks perfect the way it was originally built. For some reason, there's always gotta be somebody out there wanting to fix something that isn't broken.

ORGOCH: Fer once I gotta' agree with my big, fat sister. Leave the dang castle alone. If'n it's gingerbread ya like, go bake yerself a castle a yer own!

Somehow, when I saw the witches post on this topic,
I KNEW they were going to bring up THAT incident.

Talk about your twisted fairy tales.
