Disneyland Railroad train question

Having never been at Disneyland Park before, I was wondering about the actual location of the boarding platform for the Railroad Train that circles the park. Exactly where do you board the train on Main Street.

I can only compare it to what I know. Do you have to go under the tracks and up the stairs the way that you do at the Magic Kingdom at WDW?

The reason that I am asking this is : On my first trip to Disneyland Park, I want to ride the train around the park, before I actually take my first walk down Main Street. On the video that I saw of the opening day of the park in 1955, Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse and many other dignitaries of that time period rode the train around the park, before Walt Disney dedicated the park.

I would like to board the train at Main Street and take the train all the way back to Main Street, so I would appreciate it if I could get a picture in my mind of the froint of Disneyland Park and exactly where things are. It is a shame that you cannot obtain maps of the park before traveling there.

Yes, you go through the tunnel (goes under the tracks) then turn around and it's right there!

Thank you. I now know, that if I go too far into the park, I won't be able to stick to my plan of, first riding the train around the park.

My first visit will be on July 16th. Our plane lands about 8:45. Should be in the park late morning, circling the park on the Railroad train and taking that first walk down Main Street before noon. Can't wait!

What a great idea for a first time visit!!! The train is my favorite ride in the park, and I think you are really going to enjoy the ride! Many times I like to hop on as soon as I get through the gates too!

Frontierland: Tom Sawyer Island Rafts
Central Plaza: Partners Statue
Fantasyland: It's A Small World
Tomorrowland: Space Mountain
ToonTown: I dunno

I've never been to WDW, but from what I've seen, Disneyland's "It's A Small World" is a lot larger and elaborate on the outside. After it's recent repaint, it's resplendent in gold and white.
