  • Is Jingles back?

So I haven't (unfortunately) been to Disneyland since early December, but when I went that weekend, Jingles (the lead carousel horse) still wasn't back (I'm assuming they are repainting her back to her normal white color). Does anybody know if she has made her return yet?

    Thanks!

Yes, we saw her on Monday riding tall and proud.

She is back, came back right before Christmas if I recall.

Did you know that Jingles used to be the only white horse on the carousel? Yup, she was so popular, that all the horses got changed sometime in the 70's. (Im searching, can't find my reference... but if I recall, it was 76.)

Thanks AllAglow and TheDude - glad to hear she's back. I always have to make a stop by the carousel just to see her and was bummed last time I went that she was still off display.

TheDude, I didn't realize she was the only white one - I knew they used to have multiple colors of the horses before deciding to paint them all white, but didn't know that Jingles was the only white horse. Thanks for the info!

Jingles is no longer all gold but is still the fanciest one.

One of my twins wanted to ride her the other week but I couldn't let her because that would mean the other twin COULDN'T ride her. Don't get me started on that...

I've ridden on Jingles! My favorite horse on the carrousel! I didn't even know she was gone. I haven't gone since the 50th ended though.

Yeah, she was taken off the carousel at the end of the 50th to repaint her back to her original white/blue/pink colors instead of her lovely gold and red (luckily I have lots of pictures of her paint job for the 50th - Disney really can do things exceptionally well when they put their minds to it). I guess up until right before Christmas she had been replaced with another horse while she got her paint job redone.

Aww! I loved her gold/red paint! I wonder what color she'll be for the 100th. Generally silver is the color for 60 years, so maybe in 8 years she will be silver.

That would be sweet - I hope they consider painting her (and/or some of the other horses) again. Just one of those little touches that really makes you want to keep going back =)

The horse with the gold tooth is much more well-rounded and not all pompous or always being rushed by some fan.

Did they move her, because when I was there this past Sunday, she wasn't in her usual spot (from where she was before and during the 50th). I even took pictures of the replacement horse because I was going to note it in my next photo update.

                            Are you sure she's back?

Well, Jingles is located as the first horse behind the wheelchair accessible bench (if memory serves correctly) on the outside rim of the Carousel. So yes, I think it's fair to consider Jingles as the Lead Horse of the Carousel.
